trip was more like two hours. >> this is bad. >> i'm in hell, it's been gridlock for an hour. >> because of one car and the driver. the chp says it passed one of the patrol cars headed eastbound this morning. the driver crashed at the s curve. >> they stopped to render aid to occupants of the vehicle. the vehicle did try to flee the scene. there was a shooting. >> the car went another 700 feet before being disabled. the driver and passenger taken into custody with injuries from the crash. san francisco police had a hard time just getting there and lanes opened over time, and there were all lanes open again at about 10:00. >> the closure so we can secure the scene and take what evidence we could.

>> roberson is expected to be charged with dui and face weapons charges once being released from the hospital. his passenger is a 26-year-old, was a 26-year-old woman from australia. she has been released from the hospital. live in san francisco, abc 7 news. >> and there are oakland police want someone to come forward and help them find a driver that fled the scene after hitting and killing a bicyclist. investigators believe the man was dragged for at least 100 feet after being hit by a dark-colored sedan. the victim died at the scene. >> there are skid marks so it indicates the person did try to avoid. so it's a hit and run accident. >> investigators returned to the crime scene today to see if surveillance cameras might provide any clues. they're also looking for a vehicle with a damaged

windshield. the victim appears to be in his 40s. the coroner has not released his name. >> there are more family members of a young prostitute under arrest for the killing of a pimp in san francisco. vic lee first broke the story on abc 7 news and joins us now. >> those arrested out front found him guilty. he is the cousin of barry who along with his girlfriend was charged with killing a man they claimed pimps their 17-year-old daughter. there are family and friends of the two men arrested came to court for the arraignment. they were formally charged in connection with a murder of calvin snead, the man reportedly prostituting the teenager. he was shot in this car, june 4th, in the bay view. >> yesterday afternoon there are officers arrested antonio

guilton and then, around 11:00 p.m. last night, officers from our violence reduction team arrested williams. in fairfield, california. >> according to the claint they met him in the afternoon of the murder, they drove to the bay view and waited for calvin snead. the complaint says when snead drove by, guilton shot him in the head. and this is his lawyer. >> he's an innocent man. we look forward to fighting this case denot do it? >> he's an innocent skman we look forward to fighting this case. >> and the judge set bail at $2 million each and that is a same bail amount set by the parents of the teen-aged girl. you'll hear from their lawyer at 6:00 tonight.

>> a father will answer to charges he sexually abused his teen-aged daughter several years. the 34-year-old remains in custody and his 16-year-old daughter told a doctor about the abuse. her doctor contacted child protective services and cps called police, police say three girls lived in the house but they believe it was soley the 16-year-old whom he abused. >> oakland authorities located a missing 16-year-old girl. they say they're not concerned now for her safety. her 3-year-old brother remains in critical condition, possible victim of child abuse. and police say they found him floating face down in a tub, four siblings were missing but three were found in patterson with a relative. the baby's mother, stepfather and a baby-sitter are under arrest. police opened this investigation because of the extent of the boy's injuries

a new study of a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes suggests it could slow the progression of alzheimer's.

south korea wants to start hunting whales. the fisheries ministry says it's for research purposes but there are concerns hunts could be a cover for commercial whaling. abc 7 news joins us live from monterey with more, david? >> well, kmerm whaling has been banned since 1986 but here, here in monterey bay there are lots of concerns. this is very popular here and there is a concern south korea may be opening i door that could lead to a collapse of the ban. this blue and hump back whales in monterey bay are a major attraction.

and on a good day they might see a minky whale this, one photographed this morning. and this is a whale south korea wants to start hunting. the naturalists are skeptical of south korea's intentions. >> i don't believe in scientific research for whaling. most people don't. it's just a disguise for really commercial whaling. >> a big concern is that the action will weaken efforts to enforce a ban on a global basis overseen by the international whaling commission. >> they try to get nations together and this is a struggle. and they may get overwhelmed by country that's say we're ju going to defy you like norway and iceland. >> south korea says it's only interesting to finding out how fish life is being impacted by wheel feeding patterns. however, environmental groups warn the whale meat shows up in school lunch autos just

like other countries it's going to probably end up in the food supply. they try to monitor the fish market but... this is hard to keep an eye on. >> environmental groups say that in the past the sea shepherd has taken on japanese whaling boats resulting in dramatic confrontations at sea. there is talk of staging a boycott of south korean imports to reverse the decision, others don't believe actions should be taken. >> i just think they overdo it sometimes. yeah. a little bit. i mean... sometimes, government gets involved in too much. >> and we contacted the south korean consulate in san francisco. there is no comment on this issue. and there is a renowned whale expert that says research can be done without killing whales. the captain of the sea shepherd was contacted by abc 7 news and they said they will

expect more confrontations between environmentalists as well as any south korean whaling vessel that's go out to sea. and there is a background and there are folks that love to go out whale watching marine biologyists say it's a chance of a lifetime. blue whales last week are masting off the coast. and they're attracted by increasing amounts of their favorite food, which is krill. whale watchers report seeing dozens of blue whales and lots of hump backs in monterey bay. >> san francisco mayor tells abc 7 news mayor ed lee answered every question truthfully in the official misconduct trial of suspended sheriff ross mirkarimi. san francisco examiner

one person died and two rescued in china after the car fell into a sink hole this, happened this morning in central china. the sink hole measured nearly 100 feet, caving in on a highway and the road is closed and workers tried to repair the damage. the investigation is underway to figure out why the roadway collapsed. >> this could get more
