to life in prison. >> and convicted murderer scott peterson filed an appeal asking judges to overturn his conviction. owe was sentenced to death for the deaths of his wife, laci peterson and their unborn son. he maintained his innocence. his attorney says the client was dedeprives of a fair trial because of incorrect rulings and juror misconduct. >> san francisco prosecutors say they have new video evidence against the san francisco couple accused of killing their teen-aged daughter's pimp. the district attorney says barry guilton, his cousin and williams conspired to hunt down and kill 22-year-old calvin snead in june saying there is video showing the three meet brg that murder. then dreefing off.

whether it would be appropriate to prosecute. >> the commission will hear from mirkarimi's wife, who will return from venezuela to testify on behalf of her husband. >> and six teenagers none of them old enough to drive were badly hurt when the car they're in plowed into a tree. police say the taens were on a joyride when that happened and that is now the 15-year-old remains in critical condition. firefighters had to use jaws of life to get everybody out. the other teenagers ages 13-is a are suffering nonlife threatening injuries. abc 7 news news learned police found beer in the trunk of the car. the parent who owns the car says the beer was his and the car was taken without permission. >> he just woke up to screeching and then, a crash. and then, we went to-to-my parent's window and heard screaming and yelling. just horrible.

blinding. >> the faa says at 10:25 sky west flight 6269 reported the laser at 4,000 feet and 14 miles east southeast of palo alto. and just four minutes later virgin america flight 211 reported a laser about 13 miles east of palo alto. and lasers directed at cock pits are dangerous but landing and take off are the worst possible times, with other aircraft ahead, behind, and on the ground. >> this is kind of like on, off the freeway that. moment is the critical part. on the freeway it's easy to drive but getting on and off, that is the tricky part. same thing about coming in and out of the airport. >> yes. it's i a safety concern. >> this toust says he hears reports of similar incidents back home. >> as the plane coming into land in sydney they point lasers at the plane. >> why do people do that? >> they're idiots. >> and this call came in last

fire and explosion injuring one worker. >> and quick burning grass fire inside of a park scored an acre of grass this afternoon broke out at about 2:30, burning an old orchard inside kelly park in east san jose. firefighters had to haul trucks into that area to fight the fire. the fire gave off dark, black smoke that could be sfreen a mile away. so it looks worse than it was. and there are no structures involved and the cause is under investigation. >> smoke interest a pit fire burning led to arrest of a homeless man. police say the 30-year-old had a warrant for assault, and was taken into custody in sugar loaf mountain. police found him in a tent burning the fire. he was treated for smoke inhalation and dehydration. >> new information about alleged abuse of penally disabled patients in an
