>> alan: extreme heat across u.s. tonight dozen are dead including baby left in a car on a sweltering day. >> ama: a baby girl just a few months old died in indiana after she was left in a car in 105-degree heat. the is just one of at least 30 people who died from the record-setting heat that is scorching the nation. here's the latest. >> reporter: the extreme heat was blamed for a transformer fire in mid-town manhattan on saturday. manhole exploded igniting a minivan, and flames climbed 15 stores up the side of an apartment building. >> the car was completely in flames. getting the cav golding in

incidents today within half hour of each other. the latest one was at sonoma county. a man who didn't know how to swim drowned in the lake after falling off a raft. a half hour early a second drowning was reported at pointt. there were reports that the victim may have been fishing. >> alan: in san francisco, strange case of bees attacked by humans. beekeepers say someone vandalized the hives, killing thousands. sergio kin tan -- quintana has the story. >> thousands of honeybees swarm around this of the part of the . >> we just confirmed they both lost their queens so they're able to make new queens. >> the last colony was moved this weekend from a farm. >> this platform where is bees were

there are a number of sites available to check whether your computer is infected or not. they will also direct you to fix-it sites. >> if you haven't checked your computer go to abc7news.com and click, "see it on tv". there are three sites listed to visit to check if your computer is infected and how to cure it. >> alan: a man suspected of robbing an atm was wrestled down by employees of a tbhar marin county. the accountant noticed some strange transactions on the teller machine. they identified man who came in every few days. police say he hacked into the atm, stealing nearly $12,000 in one month. last wednesday employees caught him in the act. samuel ewing of fairfax was booked on suspicion of robbery. police say he hacked into the atm using instructions he found on the internet. >> there was a big traffic backup on the mcarthur maze in

oakland. a car traveling westbound hit a guardrail, damaging it so badly the chp was forced to close one lane until they could fix it. this was on berkel580 toward berkeley, and you can see cars moving now. we're told it has just re-opened, the area, because they had closed down one lane so they could fix it and there was a backup. but looks like things are getting back to normal. we have a spectacular picture to show you. a car slammed into the railing and then went over the edge on to another car at valley fair mall in santa clara. the man driving the car says he shoe got stuck on the gas paddal. no one was hurt. >> alan: a 17 year was shot tonight while standing on the corner around 5:30. police say the man was standing with his relative when they heard gunshots. the relative turned around and

tuesday, that bubble of hot oppressive heat that has been invading the mid and eastern half of the united states, it's going to start to move in our direction. so we're looking for hot temperatures, especially inland, heading into tuesday and wednesday, and by tuesday and wednesday we're talking inland temperatures close to 100 degrees. so, i know we have been spoiled lately with these mild to warm temperatures. get ready for some high heat the middle part of next week. here's tomorrow morning. a little patchy fog. by 10:00 should burn back to the coast. bring on the sunshine, and the onshore wd come opinion next will keep things cooler than today. here's the highs. 84 for san jose. sunnyvale, 8 2. mid-to-low 60s at the coast. mid-to-upper 70s, the peninsula. 80 degrees for palo alto, tomorrow. 70, south san francisco. 66 for downtown san francisco.
