track. >> reporter: everyone i talked with today who knew here ray says they acknowledge that horse racing is a dangerous sport, but this weekend, the jockeys guild raised questions about the emergency medical team that chases after racers during each race. on board the ambulances on thursday and every race prior were emergency medical technicians. now there are paramedics on board. >> the flag at the race horse stables remains at half staff. some who turned out for the memorial only knew her rare are for the racing circuit. >> rode my horses last year. >> others new him from year. >> originally from mexico, known for his easy smile, and a live-long love of horses. >> they come from jalisco state. like texas. horse country. >> he died thursday when the horse he was riding.

>> and the fourth race was dedicated in his honor. >> earlier today i talked with the owner of the horse that herrera was riding. he tells me he had a very close connection to that horse and repeatedly asked to train on that horse, and asked several times if he could ride it. so the owner says it's very sad he ultimately died by being thrown from that horse. reporting live, abc-7 news. >> ama: a fremont man who survived a shark attack is talking about his experience. it happened yesterday in santa cruz. the shark left its mark on the kayak during the attack. the man, known as mel, says the force of the attack threw him into the water. he swam a bit and jumped aboard a private boat nearby. tonight he shared his story on a forum. he described the shark as saying hix hays wed gray and his mouth was closed when i saw hmm come out of the surface with my kayak

in his mouth. i can still see the seriousness in hi eyes. >> alan: investigators tracked down the owner of an april ban donned truck that caused a deadly pileup in san mateo. the broken down truck was left in the fast line of sound 101 near the exit where four cars crashed at 1:00 this morning. one person died. a second is in critical condition. the owner of the abandoned truck was not one cited or arrested. >> ama: hospital officials in san francisco are trying to identify a patient who fell from a freeway overpass. the patient appears to be latino man in his 20s, dark hair, brown eyes, 5'4", and 145 hounds. here's a picture of him. he fell yesterday afternoon from the 280 freeway overpass. wearing a black t commit light colored pant. he has severe head trauma. if you have information, call san francisco general hospital. >> which you parishioners in san

>> alan: a five alarm fire is burning near interstate 80. we're joined live from the scene with the latest. >> reporter: we're here on pena adobe road in sake -- vacaville. it went to four alarms but they had so much manpower on hand they didn't pull the fifth alarm. we're join by chief doug rogers. cancan you tell us what happene? >> we're under investigation on the cause. a week stubble field. the wheat had been harvested. a good wind and burned 15 acres. the main concern was it would jump the road here and then from there it had a pretty clear path into the city of vacaville, so we called ten engines locally. calfire sent a land response and we contained the fire in an

we had it last night over the golden gate bridge. warming trend begins tomorrow and get ready for hot temperatures mid-week. overnight temperatures, generally in the 50s. and tomorrow morning, overnight tonight, low clouds will move inland. this is 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. back to work time after the holiday week, and then you notice the low clouds and fog burn well off the coast by mid-day or so so look for more sunshine, and that will translate to some warmer temperatures for us tomorrow. but it's going to be tuesday and wednesday when that bubble of hot air starts to retrograde back towards the west. inland temperatures, 95 to 100 degrees and here's what you can expect. concord, 90 tomorrow. by tuesday, up to 96. and then wednesday, temperatures peaking out near 100 degrees. livermore and concord. mainly affect inland communities at the coast. look for upper 60s to low
