good monday morning. thanks for spending your time here i'm eric thomas. and i'm kristen sze. oakland police looking for a gunman after five people were shot last night in front of a movie theater at jack london square. amy hollyfield is live at the scene. >> reporter: good morning. people here say it was chaotic. there was a line outside of people waiting to get in to see spider-man when the shots rang out everyone was shoving to fight their way inside or get anywhere but here. this happened around 9:00 last night in front of the regal cinemas at second and washington in the jack london square area. five people were shot, no arrests have been made. >> a bunch of kids out here planning to go to the movies to see spider-man. car pulled up and started shooting. >> reporter: then what

happened? >> everybody start running and i -- [ inaudible ] >> reporter: three victims drove themselves to the hospital. police discovered one victim in front of the theater another was about a block away. all are expected to survive. police have an out of control scene scared witnesses, scattered victims. they have not made any arrests. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. former software company owner convicted of murdering his wife in the oakland hills is scheduled to be back in court this morning where jury selection begins in civil court. his children have filed a wrongful death suit against him. they want compensation for the murder of their mother. the lawsuit asks for

unspecified damages to be paid to the children. family members believe he may have money hidden. >> they have suffered. somebody took their mother. if anybody else had taken their mother in a car accident or something else they would be entitled to compensation. it is no different the fact that it was their father. other than the fact it is more tragic. >> he plans to represent himself in the civil trial as in the criminal trial. the children won't be in court they are living in russia with their maternal grandmother. two events held tonight over property in albany. over the weekend activists returned to the farm site. they harvested crops they planted while they occupied the land. police cleared everyone out in may making several arrests. officials want the farm site to be used as an open air lab. a group of occupy activists want to keep it undeveloped.

they plan to rally ahead of a meeting tonight. in the mendocino national forest a wildfire is threatening two dozen structures and has forced evacuation of nearby campgrounds. the fire has grown to 1200 acres it started saturday afternoon. mill valley, mill creek and campgrounds were all evacuated and closed. the cause of the fire still under investigation. there have been no injuries. containment was expected friday all that changed with the winds picking up. this morning investigators in oakland are trying to determine the cause of a fire that injured a firefighter. flames broke out at a building in the downtown area yesterday morning. quick action had the blaze under control in less than half an hour. fire crews stopped the flames from spreading to neighboring buildings. a firefighter suffered burns

to his hands and face. he was taken to the hospital. investigators say there have been other fires in that same building. they are calling the fire suspicious. hospital officials in san francisco asking for help in identifying a patient who fell from a freeway over pass. they've released this picture appears to be a latino man in his 20s. dark hair, brown eyes. the man fell from the 280 freeway overpass saturday. he was wearing blake t-shirt and light pants. he's -- a he is still unconscious. if you have information that can help identify him call san francisco general. this morning ground will be broken on a new air traffic control tower at san francisco international airport. federal officials will join mayor lee for the ground breaking on the new 221 foot tall control tower. this is time lapsed animated

video of the project that was posted online by the airport. the faa says the project will create local jobs and increase safety for air travelers. the new tower is expected to be completed in 2014. expect detours today along stretches of ashby avenue in berkeley. the work will take place from 9:00 this morning until 3:00 in the afternoon. it will affect northbound from add line to california and southbound from san pablo to california street and california to adeline. with one lane in each direction of ashby will remain open cross streets closed as construction moves the work will continue all week on various stretches of ashby avenue. >> we were talking sfo, we wouldn't be surprised if we saw delays later this morning. >> pretty normal when the weather is like this. lisa in for mike. good morning.
