start no delays right now at the bay bridge toll. roadwork in my next report. east bay fire district says budget cuts moon it can no longer send unlimited help to the smaller departments next door so the central contra costa fire district is cutting back on the number of engines it it will dispatch to help. amy hollyfield is live in pleasant hill. >> reporter: officials say they did not want to do this they are frustrated it had to come to this but they say they don't know any other way. they say the contra costa fire is getting called too much, the fire department has had to help with fires like this one in oakley that happened last week. they've been called 18 times since july 1st. contra costa fire is worried it is so busy helping its neighbors it won't be able to protect its own district. they are getting calls because east contra costa county

closed half fire stations july 1st, because of budget problems. but, contra costa fire says it is going to have to start limiting the number of engines they send east because they don't have the manpower. this means it could take longer for a fire truck to arrive in the eastern part of the county. that taught troubles everyone but officials say they don't know what else to do. they hope the public can step up and help. they are now going to start pushing for a parcel tax on the november ballot to pass. they say this is going to be critical to public safety. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. in san jose firefighters remain at kelly park watching for hot spots after three suspicious fires started simultaneously before 9:00 last night this park is located southeast of downtown. officials say two fires merged into one, 40 to 50 firefighters fought the flames

for several hours that is still happening officials are trying to determine what materials are burning. police say the tankers may be carrying sulphur it appears 11 cars were knocked off the tracks after 2 a.m. near the ohio state fairgrounds. officials say it is not clear what caused the train to go off the tracks, two people are reported injured. back here a san jose elementary school principal faces charges in connection with the molestation after 8-year-old girl. she accused of not notifying police the first time a parent raised suspicions at whaley elementary school. a story we have been covering since january when one of her teachers was arrested for molestation. five families have stepped forward claiming their daughters have been molested by that teacher craig chandler. prosecutor says the principal may have let a key piece of evidence be destroyed a jacket with a suspicious stain. >> principal returned that

jacket to the parent thinking it was nothing and that jacket has been washed and any forensic value it had is now gone. >> attorney for the principal says, the principal, parents and schoolc?nyñ district who wee all aware of the teacher's conduct had no way of knowing the conduct was of a sexual nature. city college of san francisco has 100 days to fix major problems or lose accreditation. the alternative could be an end to the school. chancellor talked to a packed meeting about the possibility of city college losing its accreditation, state and possibly closing if the board doesn't fix serious problems in a hurry. the commission says city college has been falling down on-the-job problems like leadership weaknesses at every level, failure to react to ongoing reduced funding and spending a higher than average 92% of its budget on salaries

homes and no one was injured. police investigating fatal shooting near oakland coliseum. a 15-year-old boy was shot at around 8:00 last night in the 6700 block of leona creek drive the boy was taken to the hospital but did not survive. oakland police investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old dead the body was discovered in the backseat of a car before noon yesterday. authorities believe the victim may have been shot somewhere else then driven to the intersection near the seminary off-ramp of 580. this morning a mountain view man in police custody in connection with a deadly pedestrian crash. the 21-year-old is charged with one count of vehicular manslaughter with negligence. the crash happened three weeks ago. police believe he was speeding when he ran a red light at the intersection of california street and -- 50-year-old man

of mountain view was waiting for the bus when he was run over and died at the scene. on capitol hill house republicans are set to vote again today to reveal president obama's health care law -- to repeal president obama's health care law criticizing the law and predicting democrats will join them. even if the repeal is approved in the house it is not expected to pass in the democratically controlled senate most of the law was just upheld by the u.s. supreme court. democrats say republicans have not come up with a good alternative. today president obama meets with democratic congressional leaders they will focus on the plan to extend bush era tax cuts for the middle class. mr. obama wants them to expire the end of the year for people earning more than $250,000 annually. meanwhile, mitt romney moves his campaign to houston today he will talk economics before the naacp the nation's oldest civil rights group.

breaking news out of san jose firefighters on the scene of a house fire that has just become a three alarm blaze in the 1,000 block of andrea drive. kauz -- katie marzullo is headed to the scene. in southern california, a middle school teacher is in custody after leading police on a wild chase. take a look that is a pe teacher behind the wheel of the black pick up. it began when officers tried to arrest him on child abuse charges the high speed chase came to a brief stop in torrance when an officer hit the truck causing it to spin.

as you see, this gentleman gets going again. seven miles later the pick-up went flying off the road, over an embankment stopped when it hit a tree the teacher was taken to a local hospital in police custody. us airways investigating odor that forced crewmembers to get sick. the crewmembers reported feeling ill on the flight from north carolina to rome before 10:00 last night. us airways said the pilot decided to divert to philadelphia as a precaution. six crewmembers were taken to the hospital. no illnesses were reported among any of the 176 passengers. they are scheduled to continue on to rome today. 5:44. still ahead, merger talks in the air for american airlines. the bloomberg business report is next. >> the doctor said you are an interesting fellow.
