units there. they are have been a string of home invasion robberies in the last month and they are looking for any possible connection. also a neighbor saw something suspicious this morning and called police how it all started. >> eric: this police activity is taking place around the area of south pastoria avenue and evelyn avenue. >> kristen: you are looking breaking news in vallejo where they are investigating a house fire. this is sea wind drive. they woke people up when the fire broke out. we're told by 4:30, firefighters had the fire under control. this video from the scene shows big flames shooting from the house. firefighters now say they have it under control once again, but they do say wind has fanned the flames causing it to spread quickly. >> talk about those winds,

right. >> eric: weather-wise, are the winds but also some fog and low clouds to go with it. lisa argen is in for mike this morning. >> the bay bridge and mist and drizzle along the coast in the north bay and breezy winds. live doppler 7-hd showing some of low cloudiness across the bay but we have clear skies, concord and livermore and in the south bay, but it's going to be a cool day. winds are transporting the cool air our way and it's going to take until the afternoon to clear out. temperatures on the cool side. we're talking 60s and 70s by the afternoon. in fact, highs 10-15 degrees where we should be. >> westbound 4 very heavy in antioch because of an accident at sumperville. moving at 8 miles an hour approaching the scene. we're keeping track of potential muni delays, right now no major

disruptions but amy hollyfield is at the scene. bart, ace and caltrain looking good. capital corridor there is a track but no service at hayward and detouring between fremont and oakland. minor back-up at toll plaza. >> eric: happening right now in san francisco a demonstration is set to get underway at any moment to protest a deadly shooting one year ago today and it could affect muni service. amy hollyfield joins us from church and market. >> reporter: there is turnout this morning, but it's not protestors. a large group of police officers gathered here in the safeway parking lot. they have said they would be ready to protect people's first amendment rights and also to facilitate traffic.

they are here, but we don't see very many protestors. there is not an organized protest going on at this hour as was planned. protestors are here. they want to commemorate the death of kenneth harding. he died last year in a shootout with police. they were trying to stop him for not paying his muni fare. the coroner ruled that he died from a bullet from his own gun but some believe that police killed him. they are were calling for a muni shut down and we did meet one man this morning. >> people just want to get home from work. they suffer. they have put in their eight hour day. they have dealt with people with bad attitudes. they are just trying to get home. the protest, it doesn't help. it makes other people angry.

>> a muni spokesperson says the agency is aware of this and will take it into consideration today. this is scheduled to get started at 6:00 a.m. that was plan here at market and 14th, however, muni is still running right now. there not a major incident happening at this hour. this is an all day event. there is a news conference scheduled for 6:00 tonight and harding's family is scheduled to speak. >> kristen: this morning, san jose authorities will take a first step in clearing out a homeless encampment in kelley park where suspicious fires have broken out over the past two weeks. three other fires were set within a 12-hour period. warning signs will go up at 9:00 a.m. giving advance notice there is a plan sweep of the encampment. they are hoping they will move out their belongings since the

law requires the city to store any proper taken during a sweep. >> they will present closing arguments today. former software company owner is convicted of killing his wife in the oakland hills back in 2006. a judgment in the name of children would allow them to go after any assets and entitle to them that reiser may make in the future. reiser is acting as his own attorney in the case. >> parents and teachers that occupy shuttered elementary school in oakland last month have not given up. they rallied across from lakeview elementary where police forced them to leave after 16 days of protest. lakeview is one of four that were closed. another is being converted to a charter school. they lost 17,000 students over the past decade and closures will save several millions dollars. parents are not giving up their fight. >> i think the school district

has a false idea. they think the battle is over. we're here to send a strong message, this is just the beginning. >> kristen: district plans to convert it into administrative offices to handle student enrollment. fire crews from the bay area and around the state are trying to contain three major wildfires burning in northern california. biggest one is burning near colfax. robbers fire is threatening two communities, 2400 acre wildfire has destroyed one home and threatens 170 more. they have 30% contained. people that live above the canyon know they won't have much time to get out. >> kristen: weather should help with any fire worries. >> eric: let's cheek in with lisa argen.

you can see the flag blowing there. that is allowing pretty cool air live doppler 7 hd this morning, showing some low clouds over the bay. we do have the mist and drizzle at the coast and up at the north bay and a little over to the east bay. deck of low clouds is getting thicker and thicker not only today but right on through tomorrow. at about 2500 feet and that will allow for temperatures to recover only slightly in the next couple of days. in oakland right now. 56 in san jose with 51 in santa rosa. two-mile visibility on the coast. the fog is with us. the winds out to east bay valleys. it's going to be cool afternoon today. we enjoyed some 80s yesterday. southwest wind at 17. oakland this morning making it cool if you are waiting for the bus or have a bit of a walk. make sure you grab a jacket and

wipers may be needed. fog in the north bay and city but take a look, numbers are going to be in the 50s and 60s closest to the bay. 70s is going to replace those 80s in the north bay. no 80s to speak of today in the sacramento valley. it's all due to strong area of low pressure. it's to the north of us and take another day to move on out. breezy throughout the afternoon today as well and warmup not slated until the ed of the workweek and subtropical moisture, as well. it's all due to this system. 5-15 degrees cooler today. that will bring us to the low 70s in the south bay, 69 in sunnyvale with mist and drizzle along the coast. san francisco, just 59 towed and up in the north bay, we're looking at temperatures ranging from the 60s and 70s with very little sun until noontime.

east bay, take a look at all those 60s. sunshine, pretty nice here but definitely cool for mid-july. down by the monterey bay, sun with our warmup right through the weekend. westbound 4 in antioch, earlier crash has been cleared to the shoulder finally. traffic is still low at 7 miles an hour. that is hot spot this morning. mass transit systems right now for muni, we were keeping track of potential delays. so far nothing reported, bart, ace and caltrain no major delays. there is a track of section on amtrak capital's corridor but there is no service at the hayward station and they will be detouring between fremont and oakland. bay bridge toll plaza looks like they turned the metering lights

wednesday, that marine layer lifts on out and we begin to see a little more of summer. we are keeping track of possible muni delays, so far no major delays. bart, caltrain fine. there is a obstruction on amtrak capitol corridor. there is no service at hayward and detouring the cranes between fremont and oakland. live shot of the bay bridge toll plaza, traffic is backed up to the 880 overcrossing. >> new information in the search for a home invasion robbery suspect in sunnyvale. nick smith got an update from police and joins us live from the scene. nick, you said somebody has been detained? >> reporter: absolutely. they have found the second suspect. right now, you are seeing in the hundred block of waverly a

suspect in the back of that police car. just a few minutes ago, i'll show you what we saw. the corner of washington avenue near the heritage district. sunnyvale police took one male suspect into custody. there was a call from a resident who saw the police activity and noticed a fence was broken. canine units moved in. officers drew their weapons and next thing we heard is calls to medical services. less than a minute later. they came out a male suspect in cuffs. they say there have been a number of home invasions in the area. they were asking that residents let them know if anything suspicious in the neighborhood. he says the call started around 4:00 this morning because there was a report of seeing suspicious people in the area. when police arrived there they were able to dwayne one suspect

but they knew there was a second suspect somewhere in the neighborhood. they immediately deployed canine units and they blocked off with four blocks of the area. back here live, the suspect is back of car and waiting to be transferred to medical services. once we have an opportunity, we will find out if they believe this is the last of the home invasion suspects they are looking for. he says right now they were only looking for the one male suspect. they have recovered, backpacks and again have found a broken fence. they do know that someone was in the area. we believe that is the only suspect they were looking for. i'm here at the 100 block of waverly. there have been a string of home invasion robberies over the last

couple of months or so. they believe it could be tied to other things. he told me he would give me more information about that. one male suspect taken into custody. canine units were called and we know the suspect will need medical services. >> eric: breaking news in vallejo right now where firefighters are on the scene of a house fire. this video from the scene shows how big the flames were on sea wind drive. we're told the fire was first reported around 4:00 this morning and brought under control in half an hour. no word on any injuries or how the fire was started. we'll bring you updates as information becomes available both on the air and online at abc7news.com. a planned protest is getting underway that could 6 a big pocket thousands of muni riders. amy hollyfield is live at church and market. >> reporter: here is the group so far. take a look.

the plan is to shut down muni, however, so far they have kept the group right there on the sidewalk. this is at church and market and 14th. there is an intersection where many streets all come together. the group is growing but so far muni is running without any problems and sticking to the sidewalk. they are commemorating the death of kenneth harding that died last year in a shootout with police. they were trying to stop him for not paying his fare. coroner ruled he actually died from a bullet that came from his own gun. some people believe that police shot him including his mother who is here today. she acknowledges this protest could frustrate commuters but she says there important statement she wants to make. >> my life has been terribly impacted. this isn't about muni drivers

small stipend to take care of them. they have to live in housing and be mentally fit. supporters say they will benefit from the stipend but san francisco examiner reports animal rights groups peta calling the plan playing russian roulette with the pets. high speed rail opponents are calling for an end to the project. the project is facing several lawsuits and political pressure not to spend the money that voters approved before the economy sourced. a lawsuit brought by several cities will be discussed at the state capitol today. the cities claim the environmental review analysis relies on false ridership projections. >> eric: time for a look at the weather forecast. from what we can see, its gray start to this monday morning. >> kristen: amounts damp and

delays at sfo. >> yeah, an hour and a half. plenty of low clouds into the east bay but the south bay is sunny this morning. temperatures are mainly in the 50s and we're going to look for a much cooler day today and tomorrow. 54 in the fremont. 58 in concord. we have a south wind making its way to the delta, so clouds have moved in through the tri-valley. we will be looking at the clearing in the morning hours. it will take some time in the north bay. very little clearing in the city although there is a few breaks in the overcast this morning. don't look for a warm day. in fact we're going to keep the numbers as much as 5-15 degrees below average today. starting out with mostly cloudy skies in the city. we're talking about mainly 50s and near 60 by noontime. sunshine in the east bay and later on today, low 70s there. cool afternoon for you.

secret? >> a little bit. and they may be getting a few breaks. but gas prices look like they are still on the decline. enjoy it while i can. they say this may be it for the decline. so that is because crude oil prices are on the rise. aaa says the average price for regular gas, 3.85 right now. national average is just about 3.40. citigroup says the focus this morning after releasing their earnings posted a 27 drop in second quarter profits. but the results were not as bad as analysts had forecast. we got a report on june retail sales, pretty disappointing, the weakening jobs market is starting to take a toll on spending. that is one of the reasons we do have the markets right now a little lower for the dow s&p and nasdaq. bloomberg silicon valley index moving lower as well along with

imagery, the low pressure is to the north of us and it will influence our weather and then work in our favor to lift out the low cloudiness and get earlier sunshine despite the cooler numbers. we'll look at numbers today ranging from 59 in the city. breezy wind. 64 in oakland with 72 in concord. low 70s up toward the north bay. it will take to the afternoon to clear in the north bay. 69 palo alto. 72 in san jose. monterey bay, 65 there. 61 in hollister. here the look ahead, temperatures stay well below average tomorrow. by wednesday, low clouds and fog lift on out. we will manage probably an 80 in the inland valleys. by thursday and friday, warming up to the upper 80s and subtropical moisture with more 90s returning by next weekend.

frances has muni delays. >> in fact we heard from amy hollyfield who is live at the scene, that protestors are blocking the debose tunnel. we know there will be delays for the "n" line and "j" church line that heads to the debose tunnel. there is another delay on muni. this is lines 49 and 47, it's blocked southbound due to a non-muni accident. we'll keep track of delays. bart a good option. you take that through the city. they are reporting no major delays. caltrain is also reporting no delays. there is something on the track on amtrak capitol corridor and no service at the hayward station. they will detour the principal between fremont and oakland. now, we have this accident
