opening fire in a crowded movie theater, james holmes appeared disoriented and groggy. and abc 7 news has been covering this story in colorado since friday. >> nobody really knew what to expect from the defendant today. and the suspected shooter that is james hoemtz holmes, it seemed to be odd when we did see him in court. he has not been charged. it was an advisement which is a chance for a judge to read him his rights. the 24-year-old james holmes sat silent in front of the judge during a court appearance. >> police believe he shot and killed 12 people, wounding 58 more inside of an aurora movie theater. some victims and families came to dourt take a look at the accused who at times appeared to almost doze off.
