a mountain lion was shot and killed by deputies after it tried to get into a home. it was discovered in turlock. the owner called after she heard a crash. she assumed she was being burglarized and waited for help. deputies say the front door was broken in, but the house, clear. they noticed a female mountain lion in a tree. it then approached the officer who shot and killed it. authorities say the area is not a known mountain lion habitat. >> and a three-year long labor dispute between high watt

hotels and employees is getting nastier. employees are picketing and calling for a global boycott of the chain, charging high watt with overworking employees. they filed a complaint citing the unions for negotiatitting in bad faith. hundreds of janitors marred through the financial district threatening to go on strike if they don't get a new contract. and that would leave 450 buildings with no one to clean up. in a statement, the association says it's negotiating in good faith and expects to reach a fair agreement. >> a cutting edge technique is helping patients fight a deadly form of brain cancer. and they're delivering them in a grund breaking new way.

a san francisco district attorney decided not to pursue perjury al investigations against mayor ed lee. at everybody yu are statements while testifying at the ethics commission hearing. the mayor said he didn't talk about trying to remove mirkarimi from office and this week, a lawyer said he will ask to question him under

good evening, there are thousands of laboratories conducting research at universities. many handle daempk russ and phone shallly deadly chemicals so how safe are the labs? center for investigative reporting found serious concerns about lab safety. just who is watching out for

researchers. >> this lab worker was just 23 when she was burned during a chemical fire in a lab in 2008. her sister remembers visiting after she was rushed to the emergency room. >> when arriving almost 50% of her body was severely burned her hands were burned down to tendons. and her abdominal wall had been burned off. >> sheri died 18 days later. worker says her death highlights ongoing safety concerns at university lab as cross the state. and investigators at cal osha were brought in to look into the accident. cal osha investigators say sheri was working with this bottle of a highly volatile chemical igniting when exposed to air a cording to cal osha she was transfering the chemical using a syringe and
