it was a windshield wiper morning for me. we'll keep you posted. thanks for joining us i'm kristen sze. i'm eric thomas. hundreds of new jobs are coming to san francisco the and officials from a major retailer this morning will announce the opening of a new store in union square. amy hollyfield is live in san francisco with a preview. who are we walking about? >> reporter: it is called unique glow. the world's fifth largest retailer going to come in over there think h & m going to be discounted clothes and right across from that store. this new store will bring 500 jobs to san francisco. the mayor will be making the announcement at city hall later this morning. this is the second store located in the united states.

the first was opened in new york about a year ago. this will be the flagship west coast store. to show its commitment to san francisco, the japanese retailer clothing retailer will be donating $25,000 to the bay area chapter of the red cross. this is at powell and ellis across the street from h & m drumming up competition. competition is always good news, great news for people looking for a job, 500 new jobs. the store is scheduled to open in fall or winter of this year. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> a few hours from now the non-profit group that raised nearly $300,000 to keep a state park open will demand that state lawmakers refund the public's donations or make sure it is used on the park. governor brown's administration discovered 54 million dollars in hidden

money in the parks department accounts. the foundation says the money could have been used to keep 70 parks off the budget chopping block. terry mcsweeney will have a live report coming up in our next half hour. a 2-year-old boy is being treated for third degree burns after falling into a fire pit in marin pit last night. a spokesman says the boy fell backwards into the pit suffering burns on his lower back. the family members were with the toddler when the accident happened. an ambulance had to be called from bodega bay, 20 miles away. pg&e has settled lawsuits with two families that lost loved ones in the san bruno pipeline explosion two years ago. a san mateo county judge approved the deal yesterday for an undisclosed amount.

attorneys have negotiated agreements with pg&e in 50 cases. more than 400 lawsuits had been filed by survivors who lost relatives in the september 2010 explosion. a santa rosa man faces several felonies after a five hour standoff with deputies. they sent out a s.w.a.t. team. officials received a report before 6:00 last night from a man who said he heard gunshots from his roommate's bedroom. deputies say the 40-year-old refused to come out of house all other residents were evacuated. around 11 p.m. a robot was sent into the house and found the man lying near the bed, intoxicated, unresponsive. he was taken to the hospital. the bike rider accused of being reckless and killing an elderly pedestrian in san francisco's castro district is due back in court today. 36-year-old chris bucchere pleaded not guiltiburg his

initial court appearance last. he remains free on $150,000 bail. he's accused of running into a 75-year-old when he was in the crosswalk at market and castro last march. he died a few days later. prosecutors say bucchere made no efforts to stop or slow down. 4:35. hundreds of janitors set to march through san francisco's financial district today to protest stalled contract talks. they are threatening to go on strike next week if they don't get a new contract that would leave 450 downtown buildings with no one to clean them in a statement the maintenance contractors' association says it is negotiating in good faith and expects to reach a fair agreement. this morning, dozens of union workers pickets in front of the grand hyatt hotel in union square in a protest over
