car neilan way in indictment heights. here's the latest on the investigation. john? >> reporter: this is an unsettled sunday here in this area, which is a second cliewldded dead end street. the man's body was found behind the row of homes you see behind me. as late as 4:00 this afternoon, inspectors from the san francisco police department were poking around the brush and the hillside behind the homes. they still don't know the name of the victim who has gunshot wounds. there is a steep hill leading down to the row of town homes. the body was discovered in a concrete drainage gully. police don't know exactly how it ended up down there. one neighbor told us he heard gunshots around 11:00 last night but at the time he says it sounded lime fireworks. around 9:30 this morning another resident, who takes care of the landscaping here, found the body and called police. an hour or so ago we saw a

police car drive by bit basically officers are starting from scratch, checking the victim's fingerprints, hoping to come up with an identity and hopefully the circumstances surround his death. >> ama: a two-year-old boy in rodeo has been released from the hospital after his eye lid was nearly severed bay pit bull. thens department happened last night just before midnight on california street. the boy was at baby-sitter's house when a pit bull inside the home malled him. the boy was bitten on the head. he was taken to the hospital in a private car. and his eyelid was rye aattached this morning. the animal control has possession of the dog. >> a grass fire in by-should benecia state park. firefighters didn't let the flames spread very far. white smoke could be seen from across the car keen -- carquinez straight. it took over two hours to put it

out. fire officials say the fire was caused by someone but they're not calling it arson just yet. crews are making progress on a wildfire burning near ukiah in mendocino county. the fire gap just after 1:00 yesterday afternoon. you can see the plume of smoke in this video. the fire has burped about 400-acres and is now 55% contained. an amber alert has been issued for a missing 16-year-old girl who disappeared from the scene of a double murder at her home in monterey county. eunice soratto is 5'5", weighs 130 pounds, tattoos on her midding finger, back, and right leg. her boyfriend and his father may have abducted her. police believe the three may be heading to mexico in a 1990 white two-door acura intreg gra, 4fae963. >> a school superintendent has stepped down over allegation hetz harassinged a teacher

spacially trained dogs joined search volunteers to look for a missing woman who sufers from dementia. maria janzen was last seen wearing a pair of yellow gardening shoes. this this second day in a row searchers focused on san pedro valley park. family and friend say she likes to walk in the park. a horrible case of animal cruelty in sacramento. police say man left a box 0 filled with kittens in front of an animal shelter and then ran over them. those little babies. six out of the eight kittens survived. officials at the shelter say witnesses saw the man leave the box in a gutter, and when someone tried to get his attention, he got in the car, backed up on the becomes and sped off. >> we don't understand. the reception building opens at 9:00 a.m. we were open. instead of just walking them into the building behind you, he opted to drop them off in the

gutter and take off without alerting anybody that it were out here. >> the shelter says they will bottle feed the kittens until their big enough for adoption. police are still looking for the suspect. >> a new mexico family came to the rescue of three bear cubs trapped in a dumpster. a woman dropped a step ladder into the dumpster and the cubs began climbing out. this isn't the first time the family saved the three bears from trouble. the family calls mama bear fertile myrtle because she has triplets every spring. >> nearly 25,000 runners made the way through san francisco during the city's annual marathon. the race began at 5:30 this morning near the ferry building, across the golden gate bridge and back. the men's winner is nathan krah of salt lake city, 2:26.45. the women's winner was devon crosby helm with a time of

temperatures. today's highs climbed into the upper 80s to low 90s income extreme east bay location. antioch, 089. 91 in cloverdale. 65, san francisco. 61, half moon bay, and san jose, 78. currently we're still warm inland with 85 in concord. 90 in antioch. 62 in san francisco. 83 in santa rosa, and san carlos right now, a little bit of light fog there. -- not fog but low cloudiness creeping in. 72 degrees. here's a look at our highlights. we're going to keep things clear this evening. the low cloud will redevelop overnight tonight and bring some coastal drizzle in. it will be a sunny, mild day for monday afternoon, and then as we head into mid-week wednesday and thursday, get ready for nice warming, back into the 90s inland. so, as far as lows are concerned. clear early, then the low clouds

move in much of the bay area uniform. mid-to-low 50s. with oakland, 55. overnight tonight, 53, for san francisco. interior east bay, where your still holding the 80s and 90s right now. probably dip down into the mid-to-low 60s for overnight lows. here is the setup. high pressure will continue to build inland. could bring us a little more fog on tuesday. so a little slight nip our temperatures. that day, and then by wednesday and thursday, rebuild in, and that's when temperatures start to warm back into the mid-90s across east bay locations. we're going to keep a close eye on this low. it's start took bring monsoonal moisture in through the sierra, and if you have camping plans you may see an isolate thunderstorm or two. we clear the fog back by 1:00 tomorrow afternoon. look for 60s at the coast, and out towards the delta, lloyd 0 to low 90s.
