live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. it's flowing nicely in san francisco. overnight road work we'll update you on. >> good news weather-wise, it looks like it's dry. so let's break down the forecast. coast we're going to have mostly sunny conditions, low to mid 60s. sunny around the bay, 70 to around 80, hot inland. mid 80s to upper 90s. >> katie: i'm katie marzullo. >> eric: i'm eric thomas. chick-fil-a restaurants in the bay area across the country are preparing for extra visitors today who are less interested in lunch than the their stance on same-sex marriage. amy, what is going to happen today? >> reporter: they are calling on people to come here not with signs, not being ready to rally or protest but just to walk inside the restaurant and get something to eat. that is all they want you to do.

they say they want you to show support for chick-fil-a restaurants. there have been protests at chick-fil-a restaurants across the country over the past month. ever since the company's ceo says they back the biblical definition of family. they wanted people to boycott the company. every mayors says chick-fil-a is not welcome in their city including san francisco mayor. he says i'm very disappointed that chick-fil-a doesn't share san francisco's values. he then put out another tweet saying the closest khiblg fill ato san francisco is 40 miles away and i strongly recommend they not t to come any closer. but they are. chick-fil-a is scheduled to open in san jose next month and another one is going to be open opening in walnut creek.

they are starting to approach the san francisco bay area. mike huckabee is the former governor, he had an idea to support chick-fil-a but a counter movement is being planned for friday. that is being called kiss more chicks. they are want them to same-sex couples and start kissing in front of chick-fil-a restaurants. it's going to be very eventful week for chick-fil-a, just more than serving meals. >> katie: thanks very much. this morning, san francisco police are searching for two suspects after a shooting left one person dead and another with life-threatening injuries. it happened just after 10:00 p.m. on san bruno avenue. investigators say the two victims were stand income front of the building when two men shot them. witnesses say the suspects left the scene in a white four-door

car. terry mcsweeney will have more in 30 minutes. >> eric: we're affecting getting on first look at weapons they confiscated from a homeless man. 14 knives. a sawed off shotgun and 5,000 round of ammunition. they found the items in his jeep none of the guns are registered in his name. they arrested him ten days ago after receiving complaints he was harassing people. he remains in custody on weapons charges. >> katie: a senator pg&e engineer says they knew that gas line records were flawed and chose not to fix the problem prior to the deadly san bruno pipeline explosion. engineer testified during a deposition which was filed yesterday in san mateo superior county court on some 350

wrongful death lawsuits. he warned his supervisors that pg&e's computer system for keeping track of the pipeline system was riddled with errors. instead of fixing it his managers told him to keep using it. in san francisco, another bay area pot club has shut its doors as they crackdown on medical marijuana dispensaries. ross mirkarimi made a surprise appearance. at 9:00 they started closing up shop at the vapor room. both received letters from the justice department warning of property seizures and criminal trials if they didn't close. he says he is not a client, former supervisor stopped by the vapor room to show his support. >> i think it's a sad day in some ways that so much progress is being vanquished with a blink

possibility of u.s. military action to stop it from getting the bomb. he made his remarks after reviewing israeli troops. he said that all options including military force to stop iran should sanctions and diplomacy fail. he says a low probability that sanctions will compel iran to give up nuclear activities there. >> a new report reveals that the california republican party is half million dollars in a red. a big reversal from 2009 the state party had a $250,000 surplus. the short fall is so severe, they plan to close the sacramento office and lay off staff. some staff workers are being asked to continue working as volunteers. they want to give them the necessary resources to win in november. >> today police in one city will

sunshine this afternoon. everywhere mild at the coast. hot highs inland. we'll have clouds at the coast and bay and slightly cooler this morning. it will be hot inland and cooler everywhere. biggest cooling trend will be inland. fremont slightly warmer. two degrees warmer. oakland 73 is one degree cooler and santa rosa rose will loose about five degrees today. you can see some of clouds and head over to the east bay. sun is trying to move in around santa rosa and few of them hanging around highway 37 as it wraps around the bay. by about 10:00, mild today and day is going to be warm and going to be hot inland. just how hot? let's take a look at some of the temperatures, lower to upper 80s down in the south bay. to los gatos at 89. mid to upper 70s for most of peninsula, 80 in palo alto.

francisco's general hospital. what is the latest? >> latest we have is someone fighting for his life here at san francisco general hospital. another person is dead and it all ties in what could be a gang war here in san francisco. take a look at some pictures from lat night's shooting. it happened around 10:00 on san bruno avenue. two people standing in front of a building, two men in their 20s opened fire and ran to a waiting vehicle and took off. description of the vehicle is not much, a white car, four doors. one person in critical, another person dead as a result of that shooting. the other shooting, let's take a look at monday's shooting. this is what happened in broad daylight. two people were shot in visitacion valley, perhaps a mile or so from last night's

shooting on san bruno avenue. both victims from monday, known gang members, gangs pliamd for the uptick in shootings in san francisco. police are investigating if these shootings are related. about four people were killed in the same general area of san francisco in the past few days. a total of nine killed in visitacion valley and portola district so far this year. >> eric: this morning, funeral services will be held for a san jose couple that was murdered in their home last week. last night a fund-raiser was held for the three surviving children of pedro and mary bell jimenez. they are still looking for the suspect, theyhink they killed the couple because he broke up with mary bell who if a fathered his children.

>> i don't want to be in their position right now. i feel sorry for all the things. >> investigators say they have reason to believe the suspect is armed and dangerous and on his way to mexico. if anyone sees them call 911 and not confront him. >> katie: a few hours from now volunteers will hold another search for miss sierra lamar. man accused of killing her will not enter a plea until next month. about a dozen friends and supporters of lamar family showed up in the courthouse for a hearing yesterday. many of them have been involved in the searches for the 15-year-old. lamar disappeared on march 16th on the way to her bus stop. the body has not been found. police say they have dna evidence linking torres to lamar. >> a pilot program begins in san francisco that pays panhandlers to rescue dogs from the city's

animal shelter. it's cold wolf. the homelessness chief came up with the plan living in city founded supported housing to give up panhandle go. in exchange they would get $75 a week to be foster parents for puppies. the two month program will begin with five dogs and ten caregivers who have been screened. >> this morning an arrest warrant is out for a man that attacked a councilman. charles beale is accused of punching morris on july 3rd. next thing he was waking up his car in golden gate fields after being pumped. he says the attack happened when he went to introduce himself to a tenant in richmond. they think beale was the tenant. >> u.c. davis police officer that sparked national outrage when he pepper-sprayed protestors is no longer on the force. he has been on paid leave of

absence since the confrontation. his departure comes while an internal affairs investigation continues. university will only say that pike no longer works at the school. >> katie: u.s. postal service will do something today that it has never done before, default on payment to the u.s. treasury. they are required to make a $5.5 billion as part of a plan to pay for health benefits for reretired postal workers. they are faced $14 billion deficit. there is no penalty for not making the payment and default is not expected to affect mail deliveries. another sign of the financial troubles facing the postal service. >> if you like to shop online, get ready to pay more. senate commerce committee will o whether to allow all online retailers to charge state sales tax. it's called the marketplace fairness act. if it passes it will undo a 1992

we're definitely seeing a little bit stronger push of the cloud cover this morning compared to yesterday morning. you see the upper part of the atmosphere dominated by high pressure and that warm high pressure will keep our inland neighborhoods kind of hot once again while we're going to be warm tomorrow as you head from the bay out to the coast. 7:00 you see some of the clouds hanging around up to the san pablo bay. clouds are back to the coast. 59 at half moon bay, 70s and 80s inland. by 4:00, it's going to be a tough one inland especially east bay valleys, low to mid 90s for you. we'll have low to mid 70s around the bay. by 7:00, everybody is cooling rather rapidly with 70s and 80s inland and 50s and 70s around the bay and 50s and 60s at the coast. tomorrow is the top of the warming trend as we get near hundred inland. drop about 4-6 degrees friday and 4-8 degrees saturday.

fighter jet escort. it happened after they found a lot of camera on board. the boeing 767 with 168 passengers was on its way to switzerland when it was diverted the airline says there was nothing to indicate there was anything dangerous about the camera but the pilot decided not to take any chance that. meanwhile, a high flying encountered with a bird left a gaping hole in the nose of a plane. it happened yesterday as the plane was flying into denver. it punctured the nose cone there. impact did not affect the plane's ability to fly. it landed safely. none of the passengers on board was hurt. >> katie: in arizona, firefighters rescued nine people including a baby from several vehicles that were caught in fast moving floodwater in north phoenix. it took them about an hour to pull the people from three cars and dump truck.
