good morning i'm katie marzullo in for kristen sze. i'm eric thomas. we have breaking news from stanford university. police are telling residents to make sure doors and windows are locked and stay in while officers look for a domestic violence suspect who escaped kiss did. terry mcsweeney is live on the campus with the latest. -- >> reporter: this is where he escaped from 2:00 this morning this is a stand ford police station where a man by the name of scott foster, late 30s, white male was taken arrested

for suspicion of domestic violence. somehow, we don't have details on this, he got away with the handcuffs still on and he's on the loose right now. take a look at pictures we have of the police that all over this campus right now setting up checkpoints here and there, moving check points not only campus police, palo alto, menlo park police and sheriffs' vehicles. he was taken into custody 1:30 how he got away we don't know. he's described as 5'8, 200 pounds, shaved head, sores on his arms. we have information that he has a history of arrests for drugs and weapons. obviously none on him now he was in handcuffs. he was taken to the police department 1:30, escaped at 2:00.

they are not blocking off roads but setting up check points around the campus looking for this individual. again, the word going out to everybody down here is you should lock your doors and windows. a resident on campus. exactly -- doesn't mean he's a student or instructor, just means he lives down here. he could live with his folks, his wife somehow affiliated with the university we don't have that connection nailed down. we know a man by the name of scott foster, is on the loose down here now. police are looking for him. hoping he is still on campus and they've got the perimeter set up to try to make sure that he doesn't get off. terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. we'll check back in terry as events more information. developing news out of the north bay police looking for

two inmates who escaped last night from the sonoma county jail in santa rosa. they got over the security fence at the north county detention facility around 9:30 last night. deputies caught a third inmate before he could get way they are identified as 42-year-old and a 22-year-old. if you have information on their whereabouts call police. san francisco police commission a step closer to considering the use of tasters by officers after police chief -- use of tasers by officers. the chief's plan would allow officers that have completed training to be able to use stun guns to deal with the mentally ill. debate triggered by a police shooting two weeks ago when a 32-year-old suspect armed with a box cutter was shot and killed after assaulting a co-worker. the san francisco police department is the only police

agency in the bay area that does not use tasers. >> i'm not asking for the entire police department i'm asking for trained officers. >> you don't know the mental and physical background of the person you are tasing on the street. that can increase the rate of death just as much an officer-involved shooting. >> public hearing and discussion on tasers will be held later this month. same-sex supporters are planning to converge on chick-fil-a restaurants across the nation tomorrow demonstrating by kissing. yesterday there was a huge show of support for chick-fil-a restaurants and traditional marriage. the president ignited controversy when he came out against same-sex marriage it included comments against the chain by mayors of san francisco, chicago and boston. >> i came out because i think it is wrong just because

investigators looking into a chose call involving three us airways planes at reagan national airport. faa says the three commuter planes carrying 192 people were seconds away from colliding in midair tuesday afternoon. officials say bad weather caused controllers to shift the pattern of incoming planes but that information was not passed along. two outbound flights were cleared toward the direction of and coming jet. the planes all reached destinations safely. officials at six flags in vallejo believe the parks superman rollercoaster will reopen in time for this coming weekend. investigators continue to look for why the ride stopped with 12 people aboard. the park hasn't figured out what happened. mechanics got the coaster to roll back into its station carrying the riders with it. the coaster opened in june,

after an investigation found little oversight of the 250 million dollars raised. the state had taken in three million dollars raised by a memorial plate created in honor of victims of the september 11th, terror attacks. this morning, we have a follow-up to an i-team investigation in rural sonoma county residents of the private estates section have been complaining for years about goats and junk on their neighbor's property. when calls for help went unanswered by sonoma county government officials they called the i-team. and they are getting results. under a plea agreement the owner agreed to the goats or risk the county seizing the animals. the i-team was at the house yesterday when animal control went to the property, expecting to remove more than 50 gets and other animals. but the couple who live at

violence suspect who escaped custody. terry mcsweeney is live with the latest details. >> reporter: more police are being called in on to and around the stanford campus trying to find this person who escaped in handcuffs from the back of a police car about 2:00 this morning. take a look at the suspect, this is 37-year-old scott ter. -- scott foster. he escaped from a police car 2:00 this morning. he was arrested for domestic violence. police know him very well from pryor arrests for drugs and weapons. -- priority rays for drugs and weapons. he was in the back of the squad car got out and ran. they saw him headed towards the el camino side of the campus. the chief told us about the manhunt. >> we have an active perimeter around the campus right now. we are actively looking forehim. we would appreciate if anyone sees him that they call the

5:32. any time, any train. tomorrow, bart will lift ban it keeps bikes off some trains at certain hours an experiment that could have long lasting consequences. amy hollyfield is live with more. >> reporter: this is going to be a controversial one. we are already hearing from some bart riders that don't like this idea. should the bikes stay up here above ground parked or should they be allowed to get onboard the train? bart is going to try an experiment and let the bikes onboard for now. right now bikes are banned during the rush hour morning and afternoon. starting tomorrow bart will let all bikes onboard all day on fridays of this month. this is a trial. bike riders complain they can't take bart because of the bike ban.

at the scene an investigation is underway into what caused the accident. the westbound lanes were closed for about an hour. this morning, san jose police looking for shooters who wounded two men last night. police say the shooting happened before 8:30 near the intersection of warm springs drive the victims two men in their late teens suffered nonlife-threatening wounds names have not been released suspect goes away shooting happened in the neighborhood of single family homes a few blocks from the alum rock youth center. richmond police detectives are asking for the publish's help in finding the killer who beat and sexually -- assaulted an elderly woman. the 82-year-old died tuesday night six months after she was attacked she was found bloodied and barely conscious january 28th. three blocks from the senior apartments where she lived. investigators don't have leads because she never regained consciousness enough to answer

sacramento, yosemite, 100 to 99 check co-, 85 tahoe, san diego 74, big -- big sur 67. abc news has obtained an exclusive report about james holmes suspected shooter in the colorado movie thee -- theater massacre raising questions about warning signs and whether the university could have or should have taken action. tahman bradley has more. >> reporter: this morning, questions about whether there were warning signs before holmes carry out the massacre. abc news has learned the psychiatrist dr. fenton treating holmes at the university of colorado, was also a key member of the school's threat assessment team. these documents uncovered by abc show fenton wrote the university's policy on threat assessment. denver affiliate kmgh reporting that by early june, dr. fenton notified other

members of the team about her concerns about holmes' behavior. on june 10th, three days after holmes bought an assault weapon, the ph.d student suddenly told the university he was quitting. according to what courses say the larger threat assessment team never had a formal meeting and never intervened, thinking they had no control once he left. experts say the exit should have been a led alert. >> that's that's a signal to intensify efforts not walk away. under those circumstances, most well trained threat assessment teams would have gone into action. >> reporter: listen to what the university of colorado chance already claimed earlier this week. >> to the best of our knowledge we did everything that we think we should have done. >> reporter: those words are being challenged. those close to the victims wonder, could this tragedy have been prevented. tahman bradley, abc news. president obama has signed a so-called intelligence finding authorizing covert aid
