tolerance. this past saturday members of the mosque have broken their 16-hour fast for ramadan, and they were conducting a final prayer. that's when they found the sound of oranges and lemons being thrown against the side of the mosque. >> as soon as we start our prayers we start throwing things at us. they take all of our shoes away. >> somebody saw them throwing oranges over the fence. they rn could erred the -- the they cornered the boys and had them arrested. the president of the mosque says this is the fourth time since it is the holliest time for muslims. >> they have thrown eggs at our windows. >> stop doing this because we are a part of you. it doesn't mean we are in a different religion. treat everyone the way you want to be treated. >> they should have respect for us. >> we are a religion of

rampage at a temple in oak creek, wisconsin. they held candlelight vigils and prayer services for the six people killed by a man police now describe as a white supremecist. a member of the hayward temple has relatives who survived the attack. >> i want people to know that the sikh faith believes in equality and love for all. we believe one of our key phrases in our prayer means love for all. >> the bay area sikh community will hold a community peace rally at 5:00 tomorrow afternoon at the santa clara government center in san jose. temperatures have been steadily rising this week, and intense heat is coming. meteorologist sandhya patel has a first look at the forecast. >> larry, it will be a toasty triple digit heat inland. 101 in fairfield and antioch and livermore. these numbers are higher than where you were today.

i am standing outside the main gate of the chevron refinery. chevron came out and said they are going to open an office in richmond actually tomorrow. they will open that so people can come in person to file claims for compensation. >> when ever he breathes he says it hurts right here. >> 3,000 richmond residents came by this law office on mcdonald avenue on wednesday to file claims against chevron. that's after this same office filed the claims on tuesday. >> the first day my skin was burning really bad. >> chevron opened up a hotline for claims it is operating 24-7 as well. they have already fielded more than a thousand calls. >> medical property damage loss of income for businesses and/or loss of income because you couldn't access your job. and obviously there is going to be a lot of gray area. >> the gray area could include claims of ruined gardens and

a pipe damaged in monday's fire began leaking, and that is what sparked the blaze. crews put it out in minutes, but the chevron chief says it may not be the last one. >> i would like to caution everybody that as there has been fire there and there has been damage there still is the opportunity and the risk that an additional small fire could break out in some of these lines that have been damaged. but at this time the fire is completely out. >> chevron firefighters are standing by to make sure there aren't anymore problems until crews can get into completely clean up the unit. this week's disruption production is causing gas prices to sky rocket. at this chevron station in martinez gas was selling for $3.89 a gallon yesterday. but when we checked again, it was $.10 cents higher and gas prices went up about $.02 cents since yesterday. experts say they could climb as much as $.25 cents next week. five athletes in brentwood have been suspended following

bay area firefighters. this grass fire broke out in pour toll law valley -- in portolla valley. at least 50 people were evacuated at nearby palo alto university. it was one of three fires

including a three-acre flare up in gilroy and another near the sonoma marine -- marin line. that's where abc7 news reporter ama date is. >> it is quite remarkable how much damage could be caused by a car accident. do you see the pg&e crews behind me still working on the lines and the pole that were brought down earlier, and the firecrews are out on this hill in the darkness making sure today's fire doesn't flare back up. >> reporter: this raging car fire was the result of an accident on northbound 101 south of san antonio road. the driver hit a pg&e power pole sparking a blaze that would burn nearly 105 acres. >> interim fire chief says it was fuelled largely by the wind. >> it was wind driven until it hit the slope at the hill and then ran to the top of the hill. >> it was attacked from all angles. ground crews with hoses and

additional fires. >> and lately they have needed the help. >> a busy yes, sir season for marin specifically. we have had a few fires a week, and this being one of the largest ones this season. it is busy across the state. >> no structures were burned today which is fortunate. and the only injury came to the driver of the vehicle. although we are told the injuries are not life-threatening. the pg&e crews expect to be out here until 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning. however long it takes to restore power to the people still affected. ama dates, abc7 news. >> thank you. authorities say sparks from a welding torch may have started a one-alarm fire late this afternoon at san francisco state. it broke out on the roof of the old administration building on holloway avenue. the building is undergoing renovation and work was being done on the roof. the building was evacuated, and no injuries reported. it took half an hour to bring the fire under control. that building will be open

tomorrow. a scientist who suffered a medical emergency is expected to arrive after a dramatic rescue. the unidentified patient who is believed to be an american was picked up at the reserve station by a medevac team. because of privacyish a yous, the patient's name, nationality and medical issue is not being released. the team was waiting for a break in the winter weather, but it was 30 below today there. there was a similar rescue of a stroke patient last year and most famously in 1999 when an american researcher with breast cancer was airlifted out ?ie. a -- a scary moment for a passenger going from burbank to seattle. the passenger looked out and saw a damaged area on the wing and words saying "we know about this" it happened on

july 28th. the airline says everything was okay. a maintenance technician was writing to let the flight crew know that an approved repair was done to the flap on the right wing. the airline says the message was somebody's good inteptions, but the note did not follow company procedures and the wing will be permanently repaired in october. a new partnership could be a game changer for a bay area start up. square incorporated teamed up with starbucks to put its technology in 7,000 stores across the u.s. it lets customers pay with their phones or simply by stating their names. the app then brings up a photo of the customer and charges the purchase to a credit card already on file. starbucks has invested $25 million as part of the partnership. >> it will change a lot, no doubt. it is really going to get hot the next couple days. >> it definitely is. sandhya patel is here with that. >> carolyn and larry, if it is not sizzling enough for you today, wait until tomorrow. here are the high temperatures

for today. officially up to 98 degrees in livermore, fairfield. 96 in concord. 97 in antioch. it was triple-digit heat around ukiah, cloverdale, napa, 90. same thing for san rafael. it was an 87-degree day in san jose. warm around the bay and coast, but not as hot as inland. 71 -- 79 in oakland and 70 in san francisco. let's check out live doppler 7hd now, and i will show what you it looks like. we do have some fog near the coast. it is so low to the ground the marine layer is compressing. that's because of an area of high pressure overhead that is pushing down on the marine layer. the fog layer, only 700 feet. it is low to the ground. watch out tomorrow morning during the commute. temperatures at this hour in the 50s and 60s. antioch is still pretty warm along with livermore in the 70s. triple digits are likely thursday through saturday, and the cooling begins. at least a little bit starting on sunday. if some of you don't like the

heat and some are complaining it is like an oven, hang on tight. here is the hot air mass and the upper level high that is dominating the south central united states, and now it is right over us. that is what is providing us with the heat. it is going to stick around tomorrow, but because of the fog along the coastline first thing in the morning, it won't get too hot along the coast. we will call it mild tomorrow afternoon at the beaches and hot inland for your thursday. it is our summertime microclimate we are talking about. the summer spread is what we like to call it. pacifica tomorrow afternoon, 64 degrees. get you out toward the east bay in oakland, 81. it is a warmer day, and head out toward the inland valleys, up to 102 degrees in brentwood. a 40-degree spread at the coast and inland. we will keep it in the wide range as we head into your thursday. tomorrow morning 50s and even the low 60s showing up in antioch. just patchy fog like i said along the coastline. definitely pretty shallow and low to the ground. watch out as you head out the door. south bay numbers, 91 in
