refinery today. sky 7hd was on the scene shortly after this new fire erupted. a pipe damaged in monday's fire began leaking, and that is what sparked the blaze. crews put it out in minutes, but the chevron chief says it may not be the last one. >> i would like to caution everybody that as there has been fire there and there has been damage there still is the opportunity and the risk that an additional small fire could break out in some of these lines that have been damaged. but at this time the fire is completely out. >> chevron firefighters are standing by to make sure there aren't anymore problems until crews can get into completely clean up the unit. this week's disruption production is causing gas prices to sky rocket. at this chevron station in martinez gas was selling for $3.89 a gallon yesterday. but when we checked again, it was $.10 cents higher and gas prices went up about $.02 cents since yesterday.

certainly a busy day for bay area firefighters. this grass fire broke out in pour toll law valley -- in portolla valley. at least 50 people were evacuated at nearby palo alto university. it was one of three fires including a three-acre flare up in gilroy and another near the sonoma marine -- marin line. that's where abc7 news reporter ama date is. >> it is quite remarkable how much damage could be caused by a car accident. do you see the pg&e crews behind me still working on the lines and the pole that were brought down earlier, and the firecrews are out on this hill in the darkness making sure today's fire doesn't flare

back up. >> reporter: this raging car fire was the result of an accident on northbound 101 southad.of san antonio road. the driver hit a pg&e power pole sparking a blaze that would burn nearly 105 acres. >> interim fire chief says it was fuelled largely by the wind. >> it was wind driven until it hit the slope at the hill and then ran to the top of the hill. >> it was attacked from all angles. ground crews with hoses and air tankers and a helicopter. >> they got it as best they could and as quick as they could. >> he owns some of this land. just over the water tower lives lives -- lies corta family dairy. they know something about fires. >> i was a volunteer with the san antonio fire department and chief for 20 years. >> they surveyed the damage that will be costly. his cattle graze here and now he will have to buy more hay.

out here until 5:00 or 6:00 in the morning. however long it takes to restore power to the people still affected. ama dates, abc7 news. >> thank you. authorities say sparks from a welding torch may have started a one-alarm fire late this afternoon at san francisco state. it broke out on the roof of the old administration building on holloway avenue. the building is undergoing renovation and work was being done on the roof. the building was evacuated, and no injuries reported. it took half an hour to bring the fire under control. that building will be open tomorrow. a scientist who suffered a medical emergency is expected to arrive after a dramatic rescue. the unidentified patient who is believed to be an american was picked up at the reseration. because of privacyish a yous, the patient's name, nationality and medical issue is not being released. the team was waiting for a

break in the winter weather, but it was 30 below today there. there was a similar rescue of a stroke patient last year and most famously in 1999 when an american researcher with breast cancer was airlifted out ?ie. a -- a scary moment for a passenger going from burbank to seattle. the passenger looked out and saw a damaged area on the wing and words saying "we know about this" it happened on july 28th. the airline says everything was maintenance technic maintes writing to let the flight crew repairat an apprpair was done to the flap on the right wing. the airline says the message was somebody's good inteptions, but the note did not follow company procedures and the wing will be permanently repaired in october. a new partnership could be a game changer for a bay area start up. square incorporated teamed up with starbucks to put its technology in 7,000 stores across the u.s. it lets customers pay with their phones or simply by

marine layer is compressing. th that's because of an area of high pressure overhead that is pushing down on the marine layer. the fog layer, only 700 feet. it is low to the ground. watch out tomorrow morning during the commute. temperatures at this hour in the 50s and 60s. antioch is still pretty warm along with livermore in the 70s. triple digits are likely throug thursday through saturday, and the cooling begins. at least a little bittarting starting on sunday. if some of you don't like the heat and some are complaining it is like an oven, hang on tight. here is the hot air mass and the upper level high that is dominating the south central united states, and now it is right over us. that is what is providing us with the heat. it is going to stick around tomorrow, but because of the fog along the coastline first thing in the morning, it won't get too hot along the coast. we will call it mild tomorrow afternoon at the beaches and hot inland for your thursday. it is our summertime microclimate we are talking about. the summer spread is what we like to call it.

august 3rd and made public, lisa hill explained she had been suffering from a mysterious illness for several months. and in march of this year she says, i found my husband putting an unidentified substance in my morning coffee. >> she wasn't sure. she suspected in march at which time she followed instincts and contacted the police. >> reporter: for five months lisa hill lived in fear in the couple's home as investigators secretly took samples of the coffee her husband delivered to her bedside every morning. when the test results came back they were shocking, extreme levels of barium in her coffee, a toxic heavy metal that is poisonous and causes flu-like symptoms. >> when we got the lab results back, nobody was more surprised than lisa her fear had been confirmed. and it was actually possible that her husband was trying to do her great harm. >> reporter: the police told her her previous health issues are consistent with heavy metal poisoning. they tell us no charges have been filed at this point, but her husband is not allowed near their home. >> this is and will be a continuing and slow, methodical investigation. >> reporter: if this is a case of spousal poisoning it won't be
