nearly 2500 free backpacks with school supplies will be distributed in san jose this morning at 10:00 to families who preregistered. last year 2000 backpacks were handed out at the community center. this year, a record number of families signed up. there was concern there might not be enough backpacks to meet the commandment the charity was 400 short a month ago. they tell us every family that has an appointment will receive a complete backpack with school supplies, plus gift cards for new children's shoes. sergio says there are some people in line. a live report in our next half hour. new e-mails show how involved the white house was in managing the controversial solyndra loan program. >> reporter: new campaign by a group supporting president obama has mitt romney crying foul.
