a downtown fremont business owner. it was held here at the civic center. the business owner basically says he was shocked by the violence in wisconsin so he wanted to put together this event to show husband support for his fremont friends and customers who are sikhs. with a banner that reads, we're all americans, a few dozen sikhs turn out but it was a mostly quite event the organizer says he wanted to lit his sikh neighbors know they have support from thought the community. >> everybody its equal. we all bleed the same blood, have the same feeling. >> reporter: like most people he was shocked when he saw the tragic escapes from wisconsin. among the groups two turned out for his get together were members of the local sikh temple. earlier today they were part of a special national prayer. >> every single pretty much in

the united states and across the country, they're actually doing prayers for the people who lost their life in wisconsin. >> reporter: as part of the special service, people from outside the sikh community showed up to show their support as well. including state senate majority leader ellen core bette who represents the area. >> we have a constitution. people are free to practice their religion, and it's absolutely unacceptable someone should enter a temple, where people are worshiping, and create violence. >> reporter: the fremont temple is taking donations to help their friends in wisconsin and children signed on to a pentagon felonies violence that hung on the wall outside the prayer area. leaders say it's long been tradition to build bonds with the community, and after the violence in wisconsin, the efforts are even more important. >> we need to take pro-active measures in the society.

you can see a little heat relief. oakland, 68. 79 in san jose. temperatures down from this time yesterday. down seven degrees in anter, six in livermore, five in san rafael, san francisco, down two, and down nine in san jose. i want to show you quickly live doppler 7hd. it is the westerly wind component that is helping to push a little more of the low cloudiness and fog through the gap, out towards the bay, and all of this is on the increase the next couple of days. so those in the east bay, temperatures today, still hot, near 100 degrees. wait two days and you're going to be back down into the low 90s. the forecast is coming up. >> ama: a brazen daytime shooting in west oakland this afternoon caused a car crash and left two people wounded. at the intersection of 12th 12th street and mandela parkway. police say someone opened fire on this car white was in motion. the driver was shot several

times and crashed into a tree nearby. a passenger in the car was also hit. both are hospitalized but there's no word on their conditions. the gunman has not been found. >> alan: in vacaville a candlelight vigil will begin for a 16-year-old girl killed in hawaii. she was riding a rent jet ski when an australian tourist struck her from behind going 40 miss on his jet ski. the man is being held on $100,000 bail, preventing him from returning to australia. tonight's vigil is open to the public. it will take place at andrews park in vacaville. >> some walnut creek residents are complaining about the response time after a water main breaks. the main broke last night around 10 at a construction site. the water, several inches deep, fred into driveways, garages and front yards.

one resident, whose yard and driveway were flooded, expected a better fix. >> east bay mud should have responded quicker. walnut creek police department was out, the fire department, but they're not equipped in shutting this off. east bay mud should have been here with a as soon as time as soon as it was called in. >> east bay mud has not responded to our calls. the main had still not been turned off two hours after it broke. >> alan: a claims office for people seeking compensation after the chevron refinery office will re-open tomorrow morning. yesterday residents flooded the office. early findings indicate a corroded pipeline may be to blame for the blaivmentz tomorrow's structural safety experts from the board will be at the refinery to inspect the fire zone to make a claim, go to the community center, monday through friday from 9:00 to

highway 20 east of the first fire. the fires were report 4:30 this afternoon. at this point there are no evacuations and cal fire says no structures are immediately threatened. >> alan: the highway principal is investigating a fiery crash this morning that claimed the lives of two people in the southbound lanes of interstate 680 in san ram. you three vehicles were involved in the crash. at 1:30. two cars veered into a construction zone and slammed into a work truck. no workers were involved but gasoline spilled on one of the cars, caught fire, with the victims trapped inside. >> ama: mitt romney's selection of paul ryan has injected some energy into republicans as the pair campaigns together, but democrats are voicing their concern of calling ryan an extremist. >> reporter: an enthusiastic crowd of supporters greeted the

socked in right now. a lot of mist and drizzle there. san francisco, daly citi, and check out this pocket of sunshine for you guys in half moon bay. in fact temperature in half moon bay was up two degrees. woo-hoo. where you were yesterday. here's a look at current readings, livermore, 97. 91 in concord. 80s, north bay. 59, san francisco, half moon bay, 57. 78, san jose. our highlight, taking us into our work week, the fog returns, coast and bay tonight. still going to be warm to hot inland on monday. tuesday we'll have a little relief but going to be wednesday, thursday, when much cooler temperatures, much cooler air starts to reach inland locations. i want to show you the closeup satellite. you can see the wall of fog, a westerly wind component and that's going to start the cooling trend as we head into monday, tuesday, and definitely wednesday and thursday.

check out the area of isolated thunderstorms starting to develop throughout the central valley area. live doppler 7hd all towards south lake, numerous lightning strikes. we're bringing it in closer towards the bay area, i-5, up towards the central valley area, and some of these could possibly -- might see some of the cumulus clouds rotate in. we'll keep a close eye on that. as the sun begins to set the isolated thunderstorms will die down. speaking of setting sun, we'll look for the fog to develop overnight. 48, cloverdale. 53, san francisco, 60, antioch. tomorrow morning, 7:00 a.m., overcast conditions, some of the fog could be dense near the coast. maybe some mist and drizzle. 48-62, by lunchtime, temperatures in the mid-80s, and by 4:00, hot inland with
