is other video, sheriff's department confirms that they've seen him inside of the house this morning and that is why they've been out here all day. they've been negotiating and trying to use a p.a.system to get him to turn himself in. and to his arms so they can discuss what happened this past week. and there is a mother and sister across the street from the house, his brother responded to the scene at some point this afternoon and told me briefly he didn't believe his brother is inside of the house. and he may have slipped away and then later when the s.w.a.t. team arrived so there is confusion as to whether

this will be a long standoff or not. and they changed out an armored vehicle. and there is one just brought in. so they're hunkering down and preparing for a long, long night ahead. >> we'll be there all night as well. stay with us. officials in yosemite are warning people who visited the park this summer to be on the alert for symptoms of the hanta virus. this is after a man who visited curry village last june died from the disease. another woman also became seriously ill. today officials confirmed rodent droppings at the campsite tested positive for hanta virus. people can be infect bid inhaling dust. symptoms can show up weeks later, doctors say prevention is the key here. >> wipe down the cabin using wet wipe was a little bit of

bleach. it prevents it from getting into the air. >> workers have begun disinfecting the tents. and to avoid attracting mice keep food sealed, remove piles where rodents can hide and seal holes where mice can enter buildings. >> there is a search in yosemite national park for a missing 6-year-old boy whose family suffered one tragedy, the loss of their 10-year-old son. the family was cooling off in the merced river near the foot bridge yesterday afternoon. the two boys were swept away by the current. and abc 7 news joins us live with more. >> this is a tragic accident out here. about the same area where three young adults together lost their lives last year. this time a 10-year-old boy has died.

members of the search from anaheim here on a day trip took a break at the foot bridge below vernal fall around pk, went into the merced river to cool off wex did have a mild winter. you'd think currents won't that be bad but in spots they are. and particularly where boulders come together, water is swift. both boys and their mom were swept out. the mom got out safely with help. but about 150 yards downstream, someone grabbed the 10-year-old but efforts revive him failed. >> a visitor was able to pull the 10-year-old from the river and started cpr on him. he kept doing cpr on the so-year-old until our search and rescue crews were able to show up to take over. and unfortunately after a very long time of doing cpr the 10-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. >> and rangers are not releasing names but there are

and whether it has to relate to the sheriff's office. so they're being chairful because what happens to ross mirkarimi is uncharted territory. >> this is to give 17 years of public service to this city. nine years in the d.a.'s office and a former legislative aide. i love this city arks dor it. it's hard to go through this. >> this is the areaing required after mayor ed lee suspended ross mirkarimi. mirkarimi pleaded guilty after a domestic violence incident new year's eve. his crying wife made a video showing her bruise. today, attorneys told commissioners that doesn't constitute misconduct. >> this has to be recognized that people sometimes make mistakes and run afoul of the law.

it doesn't necessarily warrant removeal. and clearly the facts in this case do not warrant removeal. >> and her attorney representing mayor ed lee says the behavior is grounds to kick him out of office. >> most significantly this discredit and dysfunction woe bring to the department were he to continue as a convict in that office. >> the commission chair wonder fd they can issue a split decision agree to misconduct but still reinstate mirkarimi. >> if we think removeal is too significant of a penalty for the act, do you agrae to make a recommendation to the board? >> this included more than three hours of public testimony. mirkarimi's important backers are his mother and his wife back from a trip to venezuela.

there is health news, cdc recommended all baby boomers should be tested for hepatitis c, transmitted through blood and killing 15,000 americans every year. guidelines based on studies
