the vernal fall foot bridge. >> this is supposed to be a fun trip but took a tragic turn. it was hot and this group wanted to cool off. they took a break by going into the merced river at 3:00 afternoon. a 10-year-old, his 6-year-old brother and mother were swept away by strong currents. the father was not in the water because he can't swim. the mother got out, and a park visitor was able to grab the 10-year-old about 150 yards downstream. and he was declared dead on scene. the focus is on the 6-year-old still missing. crews and dive teams were ate again but no luck so far. the chances of his survival diminishing with each hour, crews don't want to call this a recovery. there is a mild winter so it's

we have an update for you on the ethics commission case involving ross mirkarimi. we're live with the decision. >> at the top of the newscast they'd taken the straw poll and voted to find ross mirkarimi guilty.

now they've officially affirm that had vote and that he did commit official misconduct and they're basing that on the domestic violence incident that occurred on december 31 and ross mirkarimi's subsequent conviction of a misdemeanor charge. the center in this case was chairman of the ethics panel. he and his wife sat holding hands when this decision was announced they say they'll talk this evening. we're expecting a statement from ed lee and we'll have that coming up later and this is the recommendation that will now go to the board of supervisors who will decide the fate. abc 7 news. >> thank you. >> you probably know san francisco explore tore yum as
