endurance at this schedule drags on w testing going on with major league baseball and collective bargaining agreement with players it's almost idiotic to try to get away with it according to a's pitcher brandon mccarthy it doesn't seem like it's an option. when i got to the game it felt like a thing people might think about without repercussions. now, it seems like nobody is ever testing and it's people in the game making a bigger presence. seems like a stupid option. and some people are willing to do it and on the whole it seems silly at this point. >> i think anyone is looking for an edge. unfortunately. but i don't think history changed as far as that goes and this leg has put together the best policy in all of

6:04 pm
this is something that is common place. many more players than you might imagine are qusing synthetic testosterone because it's easy to kirk come vent you mentioned dominican connection. and both are from the dominican repub rick, i have a feeling we're going to see you sooner as opposed to later, thank you. >> thank you for having me. >> and that is interesting insight. >> bay area baseball fans are shaken by news one of the stars cheated at the game they lost. nick smith is live tonight at the coliseum with reaction to the news from the fans. >> fans are sounding off about cologne being busted for using a banned substance but are quick to point out this should not stop them from making it to the playoff autos not surprised. >> and this is kind of stupid,
6:05 pm
i think. >> after learning former cy young award winner cologne would not be playing for the rest of the season, suspended today. latest in a list of baseball player to test positive. in this case it was testosterone. >> improving that much, not surprised at all. it doesn't happen by magic. >> and i'm not in favor of testing these individuals who hurt their bodies but this is their choice its hard. very no sympathy for stuff like that. love the guy f you're going take something to improve, it's cheating. >> and there are fans left to wonder if pitchers can carry the team to the playoff autos tho cologne but there is strong pitching. >> most believe a's could

6:09 pm
and this stemmed from a heated argument on new year's eve. a domestic spat resulted in mirkarimi grabbing her arm and leaving a bruise. the most-pointed question is the one incumbents might want to look at closely. it will be the board to decide the fate. the poll asks if a member of the board of supervisors voted to keep mirkarimi as sheriff are you more likely or less to vote for them in the next election? 19% answered more likely. but 5% said they'd be less likely to vote for them. 23% responded it won't make a difference. kathy black is an advocate for domestic violence victims. >> a vote bit the board of supervisors in favor of ross mirkarimi retaining his position as sheriff would be like saying there are
