now let's go to sergio quintana, live in petaluma, where the fans are anxiously awaiting the return of their hometown heroes. reporter: heart throbs in pennsylvania and heart throbz near petaluma as well. two theaters have been packed here in downtown petaluma at the multiplex through the duration of this series. this morning, it was a little more subdued. only a couple dozen people turned out for an early game, but when the team rushes, going to be droves of people welcoming them home. [cheers and applause] >> the catch near first base sealed the deal for petaluma and triggered a round of applause for the hometown audience. >> the energy and the spirit and the fact that they don't give up, is just -- true champions. >> the nationals, which includes her grandson, porter slate, came in third in this little league world series. his big sister is kendall slate,

party for them in san francisco. pretty popular guys. reporting live in petaluma, abc-7 news. >> ama: that would be awesome. >> alan: you can watch the rebroadcast of the game against panama tonight at 8:00 p.m. on comcast 195 and digital 7.2 and 7.3. >> ama: now to the violent weekend in oakland where three children have been injured in a series of shootings. we're live in oakland. reporter: there have been 77 homicides in oakland so far this year, up from 74 last year. so far this weekend three children were wounded in three separate shootings, two adults were killed. now residents and city officials are frustrated and angry this violence just won't stop. >> the shooting started friday night in west oakland at 8:00 on sycamore. a 46-year-old man was shot and killed.

a 7-year-old boy was grazed in the neck by a stray bullet. police say more than 20 shots were fired in this incident. at 33:00 a.m. saturday a 12-year-old girl was wound when bullets entered her home. no one else was hurt and no apparent motive. the children child wounded is a 14-year-old boy. shot while in an apartment complex. this shooting also claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman who was visiting friends. unlike the other two children who are in stable condition, the 14-year-old is in critical condition at children's hospital. what seems to be an endless epidemic of shooting has frustrated residents and city councilmen. >> i'm tired of hearing about it. tired of seeing it happening. i grew up in oakland. it's disgusting. >> the police needs new tools, tools in other cities, san jose, phoenix, you name it, kerr

curfews, antiloiterring ordinary -- ordinances. >> police are looking for the suspect but doesn't seem to be a clear motive for any of them. the shooting on 58th seems to be as a result of an argument. police are asking for help in identifying any suspects. oakland police and crimestoppers are offering $15,000 in the case of the two homicides and offering $5,000 for information regarding the shootings of the young children. report log enough oakland, abc-7 news. >> alan: san francisco has the highest paid police chief in the country according to the san francisco chronicle. chief made more than $121,000 last year among the top of the heap in the nation. also the highest paid department led in san francisco, closely followed by the san francisco fire chief, who made $310,000 in compensation. >> officials accidentally activated a warning siren in san

a little right here and that will encroach overnight tonight. quickly, i'm going to take you to central and so-florida. let's look at tropical storm isaac. winds right now 55 miles-per-hour. so a tropical storm but you can see the feeder bands sweeping in towards the tampa area, even jacksonville, florida, reporting ice late ode thunderstorms. this is the track, a tropical storm and looks buy 8:00 tomorrow night still a tropical storm but pulling away towards the west, away from the western coast of florida, and then, folks, check this out. by 5:00 tuesday, category 1 hurricane, expected, and it looks like by thursday morning it could make landfall near new orleans as a category 2. we will keep you updated on this developing situation. here's a look at the highs for today. we've move it back to our part of the country. 71 for san rafael. 64 in san francisco.
