following breaking news in the north bay haz-mat team on the scene at a cotati pool service business to deal with a chemical spill. video just in on portal street west of highway 101 and the roanoke park expressway. an alarm sounded after 1:30 this morning. police called in the fire department, fire officials tell us they've had trouble contacting the business owner. we'll be live on the scene shortly stay with abc7 news for live updates throughout the morning. peninsula assemblyman hill will gather with the mayor and residents of san bruno today to provide an update on what has been done two years after the deadly gas pipeline explosion. sunday will mark the two year anniversary of the disaster that killed eight and destroyed 38 homes, eight homes have been reconstructed per hits issued for more than a dozen other homes. hill will speak about what still needs to be done.

breaking news from the north bay. hazardous materials crews on the scene of a possible toxic chemical spill in cotati at a pool cleaning business. >> reporter: as we've been reporting this morning it was around 1:30 alarm started going off the police department thought they smelled chlorine and saw a vapor cloud in the air haz-mat and the fire department has made entry good news it does not appear there's danger. i want to introduce the battalion chief andy taylor. what can you tell us about you guys going in and what found?

>> so, what they -- what they found was when the haz-mat team made entry, they able to discover any source of the leak. there may be a problem with secondary containment system, if any leak is present, it is contained. it does not present a hazard to the public or anything at this time. some units are going to be on scene waiting for the business owner to arrive then we can get it wrapped up. >> reporter: for all these hours this morning the business owner has not been aware? >> no, we've been unable to contact them. >> reporter: chief, thank you. good news to the public, not a hazard here in cotati, maybe a problem with the secondary containment system inside the business -- [ inaudible ]

the hantavirus warning hit yosemite national park really hard this holiday weekend. there was a 20% cancellation rate for lodging in the park. yosemite is typically sold out for labor day weekend. most of the cancellations were in curry village where officials say as many as 10,000 could have been exposed to the rodent-borne virus this summer. six cases with two deaths have been linked to the campground. narcotics officials are warning marijuana farms are affecting the purity of the reservoirs. much of the trash they pulled from the hills around the crystal springs reservoir came from illegal pot grows, including car batteries and banned chemicals. officials say toxic runoff from the trash could pollute the reservoir. the narcotics task force says over the past five years, it has ceased 170 million dollars
