jut un$5 a gallon at the shell station. -- just under $5 a gallon at the shell station. governor brown has taken emergency action he did this sunday. brown is calling for refineries to go ahead and start producing what is called a winter blend mix of gasoline. this gasoline typically is not produced by the refineries until after halloween. due to the skyrocketing prices in the last week, governor brown wants this to take place immediately this is a cheaper mix of gas to produce, which will translate into lower prices for consumers. of course, everyone has seen the pain at the pump. dramatic jump in prices, take a look at san francisco now $4.74, up 47 cents in one week. oakland and san jose, $4.68, a jump of 50 cents.

one expert did say governor brown's emergency action will help consumers. >> it is right if that would have a major impact on the price. increasing our supplies by 8 or 10% could be plenty to bring down california prices to normal relationship to the rest of the country. >> reporter: now the big question, how soon will we see prices fall? analysts are all over the board on this some are saying we could see prices drop in the next week. sue thompson, abc7 news. they are cleaning up this morning arm oakland city hall after protesters went on a vandalism spree. they broke windows and damaged cars from 14th and telegraph at 6:00 last night. the targets included city hall, police recruiting station, several banks and other businesses. plus, cars parked along the street. police say they were outnumbered and were not
