>> reporter: good morning. barack obama told his supporters last night it is time to get almost obsessive. he arrived in friendly territory of san francisco yesterday on a day when the poll up ins that were released don't look good for the president. pew research center found mitt romney is leading 49-45%. the first major poll taken since he debated mitt romney. the president's debate performance was widely criticized even by his supporters. some said they came out to support him in san francisco because of his debate performance. >> the debate, i thought if romney got elected and i hadn't done everything i could to help, i would never forgive . that's why i'm here today. -- >> reporter: the president is in town to raise money this is his sixth visit here this year.

determined that mirkarimi committed official misconduct. we'll have a live report from katie marzullo in the next half hour. new, oakland police investigating their 96th and 97th homicides of the year. two people were found dead in a car last night one shot in the head, both men. it happened near 10th and philibert. no immediate information on suspects. the fbi is investigating friday's fatal stab of a home in her home. family and friends of the victim 55-year-old susie ko held a memorial vigil last night. they are reaching out to the public to help bring her killer to justice. >> reporter: a grieving husband and family leads a slow procession of mourners to the home where susie ko, be loved wife and mother once lived place adorned with candles and flowers.

susie ko's husband in the home wednesday to see if anything was missing or stolen. the idaho plates on that stolen subaru they say may have been removed, but they hope anybody can help. developing news in napa dozens will be forced from their homes while the bomb squad destroys a container of highly dangerous ether. authorities found it at the calistoga fairgrounds yesterday. 75 to 100 people will be forced from their homes as a precaution. the operation should take two hours. no major road closures are expected. tonight begins battle to stay alive in baseball divisional playoffs where the for the a's and giants.

including one woman robbed last year. >> one bumped from behind and grabbed me and threw me down and took my cell phone. >> a neighbor was walking somebody rode up behind her and grabbed her privates. >> police say there have been at least 10 incidents since june. this morning, uc berkeley police are warning women to be careful after two incidents on campus. last saturday someone used a cell phone to record an 18-year-old woman while she showered at sproul hall. six hours later during a game a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and robbed of her ticket to the game at gate 8. san jose fire department looking for a fire bug, six incidents in the area of downing in the past eight days. the arsonist appears to be targeting dumpsters. the fire has also burned

sandusky to live out the rest of his days in prison. he released an unapologetic statement last night. t.j. winick is covering the sentencing. >> reporter: he regrets not taking the stand after being convicted of 45 of 48 counts of child sex abuse against 10 boys. for the last three months he's been spending time in jail writing a statement he plans to read today. last night he issued an audio statement which ran on penn state's student-run radio. >> they can take away my life. they can make me out as a monster, they can treat me as a monster but they can't take away my heart. in my heart i know i did not do these alleged disgusting acts. >> reporter: at 68-years-old a life sentence is almost inevitable. the judge has a wide range of possibilities. the crimes the former football coach was convicted of occurred over 15 years during which laws changed and
