flying and innocent taxi hit. amy hollyfield is live at the scene. >> reporter: ed dee and franklin still closed when you look at the crash cars they are still here hard to believe the injuries weren't more serious police tried to pull 0 the white car 2:00 this morning because the light over their license plate was out. the car took off. otherwise say the passenger shot at police. the car ran a red light at franklin and eddie when it crashed into the cab. the two in the car started running police chased after them, they caught the passenger, who they believe was the shooter but the driver is still on the run. police are okay, but they are still shaken from the experience. >> it is a lot. a lot to go through, still digesting it. it takes a while to have it process through your brain and realize what happened. even after time goes on throughout the day they will

probably still think of what happened. >> reporter: they were shot at but the guys missed. the taxi driver was taken to the hospital not with life-threatening injuries he's expected to be okay. the officer says he has injuries to his hand. they are looking for the driver of the car. i spoke with the police officer who was shot at, she remembered him vividly. it was a black man with dreadlocks that were medium length and he was wearing a baby blue shirt. police have no idea why the two men reacted this way when police tried to pull them over. they are still trying to figure that out. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. we are learning more about what is in the controversial files covering more than two decades of sexual abuse allegations concerning the boy scouts, two dozen of those incidents took place in the bay area. katie marzullo is live in the newsroom with details. >> reporter: i've been reading

through the files of the cases involving bay area men. here's one example, scout leader application a man from sunnyvale recommended for the confidential an file for one wore it says perversion someone sent in a newspaper climbing citing a morals complain. the scouts sent back a form letter saying thank you we appreciate this kind of information. there are 14,500 pages of this dating from 1965 to 19895 naming 1200 alleged pedophiles. handwritten letters from parents and scouts, memos military discharge records. besides volume of files there's outrage over the apparent lack of police involvement in any of these cases. there are cases deemed unsubstantiated. dean johnson says lawsuits will likely start flying from all sides there undoubtedly will be former boy scouts who will be suing the boy scouts organization. who will be suing the

individuals named. some of the named individuals may be suing the boy scout organization for invasion of privacy for defamation. >> reporter: for the most part it is too late to prosecute any after the accused men because statute of limitations has expired. it is possible in california to file uncertain circumstance national president of the boy scouts of america has released a statement saying there has been instances of children being abused and the response has been insufficient, inappropriate or wrong. katie marzullo, abc7 news. a crime that shocked the nation in 2009. a 22-year-old richmond man has an pleaded guilty to charges from the richmond high school gang rape case a plea by manuel ortega, 32 years prison sentence. the assault let a teenaged girl hospitalized after being

repeatedly attacked by a group of boys and men. the victim was wheat -- the victim was beaten, robbed and assaulted over two hours while spectators watched. ortega is the first of six to be prosecuted. firefighters in lake county counting on calmer overnight weather to help them keep gaining on a 300 acre wildfire off highway 29. high 29 closed from middleton to the lake. 20% contained. crews managed to stop the fire from advancing. calfire says higher humidity and calmer winds helped them gain ground. pilot found dead in a single engine plane identified as 75-year-old florida man reported missing by his wife. the remains of andrew hayden was found tuesday.

did grab one suspect after they say gunshots were fired at them by the suspects. the cab driver suffered none life-threatening injuries. this started with attempted traffic stop at 2:00 this morning. heads-up if you plan to cross the bay in weekend and next. starting tonight san mateo bridge will under got -- go seismic retrofiting. >> reporter: the is member bridge will be closing tonight at 10 and closed all weekend to both sides of traffic through 5 a.m. monday morning. caltrans crews will be replacing 12 sections of the bridge deck installing new seismic joints. that means is damaged portion of the bridge that contracts with seismic pressure will be repaired. drivers are advised to use the dumbarton, bay bridge and highway 237 as alternates.

omar benjamin will continue to get his $250,000 a year salary while officials investigate. the $4500 dinner tab at the a strip club prompted the investigation. it happened in 2008, it didn't come to light until recently because the receipt listed the charge to the club's parent company. the board has hired a san francisco law firm to con the investigation. a group of students and alumni from san jose state are camped out on campus in support of proposed increase in the city's minimum wage. measure d would raise it to $10 per hour. right now it is $8. measure d is on the november 6th, ballot. the sleepover is intended to raise awareness for poverty. do-or-die time again for the giants as they turn to zito to keep them alive in the series. last night game tour st. louis
