byron airport yesterday. searchers thought only the pilot had died in the crash, crews found the body of a second victim last night. local pilots believe the plane came from a private airstrip. the aircraft was an experimental plane registered to a company in nevada. mountain view warning joggers and walkers to be on the lookout for a robbery suspect. this is a police drawing, investigators say he tried to rob another man walking home near evelyn avenue. the two struggled and the victim managed to run with his backpack. suspect described as hispanic male, mid 20s, 5'10, dark clothing and dark baseball cap. one million dollar redevelopment project at former oakland army base has taken another step forward. city leaders and developers

signed off on important agreements yesterday. spelling out terms for creating 5,000 blue collar jobs for oakland residents and helping the port stay competitive. the plan to turn the 366 acre base into a shipping, packaging and redistribution center. the metropolitan transportation commission will look at another way to provide free muni rides to disadvantaged youngsters in san francisco after rejection of two plans in july that would have provided free fares for low income teens. san francisco sets aside a million dollars for the program but it needs another four million dollars from the mtc to get it rolling. mtc has examined ways to provide free rides for youth on other systems. buses, trains, they may all be wet this morning. i'm thinking they could still be an easier commute than driving. if monday serve as as example. >> i think you are right.
