has veted to recommend the head of the california public utilities commission lose his job. the resolution doesn't have the force of law behind it, leaders are hoping it puts pressure on the governor to remove the president from his position. the is council faults peavy for suspending public hearings to determine how much pg&e will be fined for the san bruno pipeline explosion and fire that killed eight. they want former senator george mitchell brought in to mediate the talks to step down. resolution accuse peavy of a backdoor deal to get mitchell on the board. >> they are representing an insurance company that could be liable for some of the damages caused by pg&e. we feel that his firm has a definite conflict and we do want him to step away from this. >> the governor would have to fire peavy. we placed calls to the governor's office and cpuc for comment but have not heard

clothing and dark colored baseball cap. one million dollar redevelopment project at former army base has taken another step forward. city leaders and developers signed off on important agreements yesterday. they include, spelling out terms for creating 5,000 blue collar jobs for oakland residents and helping the port remain competitive. the plan is to turn the 366 acre base into shaping, packaging and redistribution center. metropolitan transportation commission will look at another way to provide free muni rides to youngsters in san francisco after the mtc rejected two plans in july that would have provided free muni fares for low income teens. san francisco set aside a million dollars for the program but it needs another four million from the mtc. the mtc has examined ways to provide free rides for youth

ground. you can see best radar returns north of the north bay. then you look around the bay into the south bay, that's where we are going to have the rain for the morning commute. here's that shower just crossed the golden gate bridge moving across fisherman's wharf into downtown san francisco across the financial district towards treasure island going to cross over the bay bridge towards oakland increasing rain if you are headed that way. by far heaviest rain from san bruno, sfo down to moffett field or mountain view and sunnyvale, heavier rain pulling out of san carlos and belmont now, still in redwood city, making that jog into the south bay look for increasing rain there and worsening conditions over the next hour or so. temperatures still running in the 40s and 50s in most neighborhoods same around monterey bay. best chance of showers this morning very isolated in the afternoon hours like they were yesterday.
