d.a.and city attorney sent out messages if you're going to cause trouble we're going to get you. they don't want a repeat of sunday. abc 7 news learned police believe they've identified this man using a barricade to shatter windows of a muni bus. sunday fight, police took 35 people into custody. the district attorney says of the 11 cases they're prosecuting nine of them. most for various felonies including arson and stealing an iphone. >> we expect some of the cases we've seen where they have been damaged to city vehicles and properties around the city. >> the city attorney says if there was vandalism, he'll take them to civil court. >> we'll go after you and seek

the family of a teenager shot and killed by a south san francisco police officer is filing a lawsuit. they made announcement just an hour ago at the arco station close to where derek gains died. police say gains reached for a gun. the officer shot him in the neck. the district attorney cleared that officer of wrong doing. the family says there had to be a better option than firing a shot. >> we're not saying that derek's behavior was okay. but unfortunately our teen-aged boys are coming across guns we have to find out how and y train our officers to deal with it in a better way besides shooting to kill our boy ootz chief of police told us today the shooting is a tragedy but said

that was sandy. it's having a powerful affect on the northeastern quarter of the country. it's centered in central pennsylvania but the storm expands 1200 miles. we still have bands of heavy rains and snow being again rated bit storm. it's going to continue to affect the northeastern part of the country. snow falling in places and reaching into parts of pennsylvania as well. it's rain, thunderstorms. let's check out new england now. showers and thunderstorms hitting parts of massachusetts and maine and moving northward. into eastern canada. bay area, we have an increase in fog and clouds right now.

temperatures into mid to upper 60s. forecast features fog overnight, and drizzle. cloudy day and a rainy night for halloween tomorrow night. lows into 50s and there will be spotty drizzle along the coastline and then looking at the satellite you can see high pressure weakening now. so at 5:00 in the morning there will be spotty drizzle. rain arriving in the north bay by afternoon. then that front sweeps south ward and east, by sunset rain heading pushed into san francisco.

blockbuster deal as purchasing the bay area lucas film, creator of the star wars series. >> the price more than $4 million. it means the company is about to rev up production as george lucas retires. it's the film starting an empire. the company that disney is buying more than $4 billion. witness comes promise of more adventures. fans can expect film star wars episode 7 in theaters world wide in 2015. >> bob iger and george lucas signed papers to make it official. this after lucas said six episodes have been enough for him. he will serve as creative consultant but he's retiring and feels disney is the best company to continue the legacy. >> we worked out a deal. i probably could have gotten more money but that is not the

>> prop 35 supported by a long list of law enforcement agencies. it's financed by more than $2 million from former facebook executive chris kelly. opposition led by erotic service providers legal education and research project. >> it will not bring protection to sex traffic victims not based on evidence that shows that it works. evidence shows education is a bigger deterrent. >> the group believes prop 35 definition of sex trafficking is too broad. >> we think it's an antiprostitution piece of legislation under the guys of rescuing trafficked victims.. >> american civil liberties is against prop 35 because it requires all sex offenders to register their online screen names with law enforcement. aclu insists that infringes on the rights to free speech. others say it doesn't do enough to help victims.

she finds a match with a cartridge from another crime scene. see how the lines are. >> this is both from the same gun. >> science is so intricate, scientists can determine if a tool was used to make a bomb or alter a firearm or to construct a homemade silencer. here analyst matched copper wire to the wire of an exploded bomb. these fires belonging to a suspect match markings of a tool used to jimmy a lock. this examiner says tools are like fingerprints. >> each tool has a surface leaving marks on items. >> under his watch criminals can no longer get away with erasing numbers.
