going to be the same, better, i don't know how that might feel. >> i think it is going to be great. it is going to be as food as the first one. obviously, we haven't started yet. just seeing some of the images of all the fans in san francisco when we won it in detroit, i saw a little video and the enthusiasm and excitement they had, today should be a lot of fun. >> reporter: you think the fans are the best there is? >> no question. we get to play in these different cities and i've been through a lot of 'em and there's some guys that have been to all of 'em. you can ask each and every one they would tell you the passion these fans bring is second to none. >> reporter: you have something that would keep a player in san francisco where there might be a little bit more money somewhere else, a little more excitement here, does that count in today's modern ball player? >> if you ask some of the guys

the weather. carolyn you and i were on the streets this morning, already people were teaming into the city. >> a scene out there. this is nearly a two mile route begins at the foot of market heads-up to civic center plaza that's where the whole crew will be showered with 10 times the confetti of the world series parade two years ago. yikes! >> let's go back out live to the foot of the parade route near the embarcadero, cheryl jennings, kristen sze are there live. >> kristen is trying to catch up with -- [ inaudible ] >> it was fantastic amazing. absolutely incredible. dream come true. >> reporter: what happened to you? in all honesty, you were not a 300 hitter, 320 hitter, as you became for giants. you come over here and all of a sudden you went nuts. all of a sudden were you 25-years-old again or something, what happened? >> i don't know man, i guess god had a plan for me and this is it. like i say before if somebody would have told me late june or mid july i was going to be a world champion i would have slapped them in the face. >> reporter: i'm glad i didn't tell you. >> i was in colorado and unfortunately, we were in last place and it didn't work out right. when i got traded here and started looking around my team, my teammates, i say well i think we can do something special here. three weeks later everything started clicking and we start playing as a team and here we

are celebrating. >> reporter: with about a million people about to be chanting marco, marco or scutaro i'm not sure what they will sing but it is going to be for you, what is that going to be like? >> i mean we haven't even started. look at this people on buildings up there and just been, i mean overwhelming, unbelievable this is what you play the game for. to see so many people just happy, happiness and enjoying this, you know, just made me proud of my team and everything we did. >> reporter: it was a good time to ask if you are going to be back with the giants next year? >> i wish i know. let's wait. definitely i want to come back. i do want to come back. sometimes you have no control what they think, hopefully everything works out and i'll come back here.

my football team. if i can yell at a wide receiver for having a bad day then i don't wish that upon him personally it is the nature of sports like a big carnival, everyone is having fun, yelling, booing, screaming, great vibe that's what sports is, entertainment. >> reporter: is that how you got through the ordeal? you signed a big contract, all kinds of awards it didn't work out that way now you come through, did you save the season against st. louis, a lot of people would say you did what gets you the so low and so high? >> you get stronger, sometimes you have to learn life lessons, baseball has been the way that i've learned my lessons in life. i found a real strong faith giving up control of that and just a lot more peace in my life. >> reporter: i know you play guitar very well. you really look the part of a rock star right now. >> that's hilarious, thanks.

[ inaudible ] [ screaming and yelling ] >> there's a lot of fans with giants' fever today. back to terry mcsweeney now. >> i'm hanging out with some friends of mine bumped into ryan vogel. your story is -- if they wrote a book about it i'm not sure i would buy it because it wouldn't be true. what you did in this post-season now the appreciation comes how are you feeling? are you on top of it all? >> it little overwhelming, because i feel like i just did what i was supposed to do. this is gate. already we haven't even yet,

look at all these fans this is what i assumed it was going to be like because they showed up for us all year. it is typical they are out here like this today. >> reporter: have you talked to any of the guys, buster anybody about what it might feel like? >> no, i just wanted to see wait was like for myself. -- to see what it was like for myself. no expectations, i'm looking forward it to, it is going to be a date. >> reporter: you started out so red hot near the top or at the top with earned run average then it drops off then there's questions about vogelsong and you anded in the post-season what kind of strength do you -- have to come back from that? >> god had a plan for me itch >> reporter: so many people talk about a plan and god, is this a spiritual team something maybe we've been missing how many people believe there's a plan there's a god guiding them? >> we have a lot of spiritual believers on our team.

dignataries, local politicians, broadcasters, ownership will be moving through and the last people that will move through will be the ball players themselves. >> we are at first and market now about as far as the parade has moved that's where abc7 news reporter katie marzullo is now. >> reporter: terry might have big names where he is, but we have big fans here. take a look at the sea of orange and black that has lined market. the depth of people is endless. right now they are watching the front office staff and their families go by. pretty much anyone in black and orange is getting some cheering today. he got here 5 a.m.. >> yeah, [ inaudible ] [ screaming ]

>> we are waiting for the giants we've been standing here for hours. [ cheering and screaming ] >> a lot of folks feel the same way they are wondering what is happening this is a little street sweeping action and there's a lull at start here and people are wondering are we going to see the players? the officer just told me that yes, they will in fact, once the players get on to market they will come here to the foot of market and make a u-turn. they will be coming down here, that's what we are hearing. good to know. just to get perspective, all of the dignataries are going first. saving best for last, all of the players. once you start to see perry and the old time giants, you will know we are starting to get into the team portion of the parade.

around, spent much of this year helping younger players in fresno, brings you up in the end when he might need a veteran. what does that say to you about bruce bochy's faith in you? >> you know we love him. we -- he went down the same path i'm going down now, back-up catcher. he knows what it is like. but just appreciate everything the giants have done for me. >> reporter: bruce bochy ended up in the manager's category something eli is thinking about? >> it is something i thought about, it is just tough being away from the family but it is all i know so maybe something i'll look into later down the road. >> reporter: one quick question for amy is he a different man since he got his second world series ring? >> same old guy. >> reporter: lovable guy?

>> while why do you change out after winning the world series in 2010? >> you are trying to get better all the time. some guys reach their peak and you have to bring if new guys it is a tough job to evaluate who is at their prime, approaching their prime, past their prime that's why you have only buster posey the only position player in the world series in 2010 outside of sandoval who only had three at-bats in the world series. to finish up on a point with eli, the veteran catcher, he didn't play a lot this season. two world series ringses. thing about this barry bonds for all the years he played for the giants want before that the pirates, did not wayne world series. some of the greatest players in the history of baseball, tony gwynn never won a world series. ken griffey, jr. all time greats of the game. eli has two. look at the panda struting

people why just pouring into the city this morning. >> one of the differences, they've made changes, the giants studied the 2010 parade and they've made alterations to the parade route. last time there were curves and it was hard to get through the financial district this is a straight shot up market and the turn on to mcallister and directly into the city hall area. they've tweaked a lot. you will notice this parade unlike two years ago you are not going to see a ton of trolley cars with the players on those cars. each player as i understand their own individual car. we are talking 100 vehicles now. which means this might take a while. even longer than the one we had two years ago. >> my son was hopeful that pablo was going to be in his mvp corvette, but i don't think that is going to make it from detroit here. >> let's go out to leann melendez.
