injury accident. people in sausalito bracing for what is expected to be the highest tide over the next couple of days they are called king tides only happen once a year rain could make the situation worse. high water flooded the streets yesterday forcing closure of highway 1 off-ramp on northbound 101 it also flooded a parking lot above richardson bay. the king tide is expected to reach 7.1 feet at the golden gate bridge by 9:00 this morning, it could be higher tomorrow. today's storm could slow work to repair damage done by a giant sinkhole. neighbors on mountain view drive in lafayette have something to look forward to. re-- repairs could be done by christmas. the contractors says it will work around the clock until the road is fixed. the hole formed after a storm

middle of the afternoon. the driver ended up in the street where he was pronounced dead. the woman who lives here heard popping sounds and a screech another neighbor noticed men arguing loudly. >> we heard arguing i heard that earlier. i have the dogs, the dogs i hear something that's it. >> reporter: police believe the truck lurched from a cul-de-sac next to the home but don't know what happened leading up to that moment. after 3:20 p.m. residents were told to shelter-in-place others kept out or left voluntarily, returning after the crime scene had been cleared after 8:00. police said the victim had been shot, now they say the coroner is leaning toward a stab wound. an autopsy will have the exact cause of death. the victim has not been identified, no arrests. there have not been this many homicides in san jose in more than 20 years.

john alston, abc7 news. investigators in portland, oregon have yet to reveal motive for the mall shooting that ended up in the deaths of three, including the gunman another person was injured. police and witnesses say the gunman was wearing a mask, camouflage clothing and bulletproof vest when he opened fire yesterday at clackamas town center. video shows terrified shoppers when officers got to the scene latest on the shooting, investigation in a live report in the next half hour. silicon valley software millionaire john mcafee will be a free man and likely back to the u.s. a judge ordered guatemalan authorities to release him. he was detained last week after he sneaked into the country from belize where he's wanted for questioning a murder. mcafee's attorney says he will return to the states immediately. this morning firefighters

in contra costa county beginning the process of shutting down four fire stations. the board voted last night to close stations in lafayette, martinez, clayton and walnut creek. will save the county three million dollars per year. supervisors say they were forced to close the stations after voters turned didn't a parcel tax that would have kept them open. google co-founder larry page and his wife lucy want to make sure every child in the bay area who needs a flu shot can get one for free. the family foundation is funding a month long program offering kids 4 to 18 the vaccine at no cost. the shot is available now at most target many younger children will require a booster shot, those are also free. all you have to do is show up, fill out some paperwork and the kids get their shot the program runs through december 31st. normally it is $25. free, that is terrific and

alan wang has the story. >> reporter: shortly after 3:00, several berkeley hills residents ran out to family their neighbor steve hill lying in the street. >> he was in aggie, -- in agony, screaming in pain. >> reporter: hill called 911 told police he came home after walking his dog and surprised three burglars in his house. when police arrived, hill told them one of the suspects punched him in the face as they ran for their vehicle. >> they hit me when they were backing out and pulled forward they ran over my leg. >> reporter: his neighbor saw a female driver and male passenger took off in a white new model cadillac eldorado leaving the second man behind. >> was yelling wait, wait and he jumped in and they took. >> reporter: somehow hill managed to get a partial plate number. >> last three digits were 988. and the first something like -- >> reporter: hill runs a
