there were warrants for his arrest. when he was approached, the man ran and turned around and shot at officers as he was running. both officers returned fire. one officer was hit. the suspect was hit. everyone survived. everyone is going to be okay. police say they don't want to release anymore details because the investigation is so new. the street still blocked off. we are standing at east san jose hospital and maple. the neighborhood still is blocked off and police are doing their work and the district attorney. is helping with the investigation. we hope to have more updates throughout the broadcast. >> quick question this morning: driving in, was it foggy? >> didn't see any. it was nippy.

the livermore area the light traffic and road work at northern portion of the golden gate bridge. no traffic on the golden gate bridge. >> sonoma county investigators are trying to determine the cause of a warehouse fire with flames reported after 8:00 last night on grove street between highway 101 and heals bug with flames on the room and the building was fully engulfed. it took crews 90 minutes to control the flames. >> developing news from santa clara. investigators found home made bombs and chemicals and blowing them up. >> they detonated the explosive material in the front yard. officers found the blast items

>> santa rosa, berkeley, san jose, and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. >> welcome back, it is 4:43 on this end. berkeley police say officers shot and killed two pit bulls after they atabbed an officer in richmond. the officers were searching a search warrant and a home yesterday when they attacked. an officer was bitten in the arm. they block to the person who lived at the home. in word on what type of warrant they served. >> student was shot during a head in a robbery at a bus stop. officers will be out searching

in napa and santa rosa and san francisco is 46 and fremont and mountain view are 41 and san jose is at 40. in monterey bay at 40, and inland 42 in salinas because of fog. we will have patchy fog tonight. a school cooling trend through the weekend including monday, a cooler day of the holiday weekend and a chance of showers on tuesday. just a chance, now, is all, not a solid healthy rainmaker. today, we have sunshine and low-to-mid 60's and upper 50's. at the monterey bay, low-to-mid 60's around the bay and inland, temperatures around 64 or 75 or of 66. tonight, a lot of low-to-mid 40's and a few upper 30's and not so cool the last couple of mornings. high pressure is re-establishing

their dominance over our area after the high clouds yesterday in the afternoon because this dry pattern will hold through the weekend we will keep temperatures above average so we reach our high tomorrow into friday and saturday and sunday and monday we drop down and by monday we are in the 50's and 60's and 50's on tuesday with showers. a situation worsening southbound 680 c.h.p. issuing a sig-alert. the accident is blocking three left lanes and only one lane is getting by southbound 680 and you can see by the sensors you are seeing slowing as you move southbound. westbound 580 at first we have a stalled big rig partly blocking the right lane with no slowings through livermore and a new accident with injuries involved in san francisco north 280 at 101 and we will check with c.h.p. on the location of that.

>> this morning, transportation leaders meet to consider an expensive celebration to mark the opening of the bay bridge new eastern span $5.6 million price tag is the estimated cost of the memorial day celebration allowing 125,000 petroleum to walk the span before it opens to cars and is used for security and transportation and they hope the private group 8 pick up the tab but credit is fear the taxpayers are stuck with the bill. a nonprofit group is raising money for part of the celebration. this would occur actually on labor day. >> be prepared for delays traveling through san francisco international airport this weekend. one of the two runways will be closed for federal safety upgrades starting friday night at 10:00 and lasts until 8:00 a.m. on monday morning. the usual 60 flights an hour will be reduced to 30 flights an hour. >> bart riders may pay more with
