down in half moon bay. just nine miles at sfo which is normal. looking at western sky mainly clear, temperatures 53 degrees in san francisco. 58 across the bay in oakland. 61 san carlos. in santa rosa. 61 in napa. and on we go to our forecast features. we'll see just some patches of fog overnight. mainly near the coast. tomorrow, sunny skies and very mild again, milder than today, highs into mid and perhaps above mid-70s. it will be cloudy on saturday. this is an important advisory.

beach hazard we're going to have rough surf. you're advised to avoid rock outcroppings and jetties. now taking a look at satellite you can see over 12 hours not a lot of movement.óéwk÷ this system moving into our direction. so ridge holds up then changes coming up. starting at 7:00 this evening, overnight tonight we'll see low clouds and fog skirting the coastline. mostly clear skies inland and then, tomorrow, mainly sunny with high temperatures soaring but overnight tonight cool but not cold. lows to about 50. north bay lows into low 40s and then highs tomorrow mid to upper 70s in the south bay. low 70s on the peninsula.

wildfire burning out of control in southern california and close to a neighborhood in liverside county. >> you're looking live at the fire burning near the town of riverside. fire officials confirmed more than 50 acres burned so far. >> this broke out at about 4:45 spreading to this point. you can see how close the fire line is moving toward a neighborhood there. there are 80 temperatures on the ground. some are setting up near homes preparing to defend homes if

ended his reign today and catholics commemorating this historic event. the santa clara mission rang it's bell 85 times, the time pope benedict stepped down in rome. 85 marks the pontiff's age. the pope bid fair twoel a crowd then boarded a helicopter. the doors closed and will not be opened until a new pope is elected. he will have to deal with the sex abuse scandal plaguing the church. >> almost all of them have been appointed by either john paul ii or benedict the 16th of the same mind on the major questions soy would not expect any kind of gradual change. >> a special mass took place

like many cities in the bay area east palo alto police department is under staffed and overwhelmed with crime. east palo alto has taken a approach to crime that seems to be working.
