to be clear is in not any of the officers that had the rifle stolen but an unmarked squad car was broken into recently and one of this rifles was taken. police are not giving any specifics about when and where this happened, but a credible source is telling us from the department that it is confirming an ar-15 semi-automatic rifle was taken from an unmarked squad car. every hour the police radio has been broadcasting warnings for the officers to look out for the weapon for their own safety. there's no indication the weapon has turned up. >> ama: two people are dead after separate officer-involved shoots overnight. there have been five fatal officer-involved shootings in the bay area thursdays when a kidnapping suspect was killed. the people were killed yesterday in san francisco, san jose, and union city.

this the most recent was in hayward. reporter: this officer-involved shooting ended right behind me here on foot foothill boulevardh this case a passenger is dead. the driver of the car who had been pulled over for speeding, hat been charged with two felonies, including homicide. this all started about a half a mile away from here at 3:20 this morning. this crashed maroon honda civic shows the impact from at least eight gunshots. after union officer fired at the car after he tried to ram his patrol car. it hayes sunday morning. the car had been pulled over for speeding. the officer, who had a civilian in his car, tried to get the honda driver to get out. according to the police, the driver lunged the car at the officer, who fired at least ten times at the honda as it sped off. the officer had no choice.

>> he drove at them. shots fired in the sense of -- fired at the direction of the driver. reporter: orange circles marked with the officer's spent shelz fell to the street. five shots hit the passenger side of the car two just missed the driver. he was arrested. the passenger was pronounced dead shortly after the crash. it's not known whether he died from gunshots, the crash, or a combination of both. now back here live. the driver has been identified as 23-year-old arthur pacman of oakley. charged with assault with a deadly weapon because of trying to run into that hayward police officer, and also homicide because the passenger in his car died as a result of his actions. the passenger has not been identified. we're live in hayward, abc7 news. >> ama: in union city, police shot and killed a suspect after an attempted traffic stop near dyer street and meteor way. officers fired at a man after he pointed a gun at officers.

the suspects, who was not named, died after being taken to the hospital. the series of officer-involved shooting comes days after the fatal shoot twofg officers in santa cruz, loren baker and elizabeth budget her were shot to death while trying to interview a sexual assault suspect jeremy goulet. goulet was later killed in a shootout by police. a memorial will be held on thursday in san jose. a motorcade progression with motor vehicles from around the area well precede the memorial. >> arson investigators are on the scene of a fire at independence high school in san jose. the afternoon fire heavily damaged the principal0s office. took fire crews 45 minutes minuo extinguish the flames. this is one h of several suspicious fires in the past months. >> fatility hard the escape from

scientists say a baby born in mississippi with the aids virus appears to have been cured. the child was treated with antiviral drugs within 30 hours of her birth and is now two and a half. she now has no signs of infection. it would mark the second reported cure for the disease. marin county will be featured in a new crime drama premiering today. the show revolves around a stay-at-home mom with ties to organized crime. the majority is actually shot in vancouver but viewers will see a few local landmarks. the rosenberg was borne and raised in marin county and decided to set the story in the north bay. >> absolutely why. i know it fairly well. and, two, it mirrors the dutch period in terms of being a suburb across the bay from a larger city, and being kind of a water -- >> ama: you can catch the first episode of red widow tonight at
