>>reporter: kind of a stand off. may able to actually see the yacht over my shoulder. it's about 50 yards offshore. now once it ran aground it rocked itself into the sand until the keel was buried and now they are waiting for the right moment to get it out. as the sun set on pacifica. 82 foot super yacht called the darling had dug the keel deep that the sand. salvage crew called into more powerful tugboat. >> we have the power if it will hold. but the idea is to get out there with a whole complete boat no. hole. no nothing. >>reporter: now they are hoping for early morning high tide to lift up and ease the keel out of the sand. >> some are joy ride. some are them are stealing them to pedal them. >>reporter: police truth guns after realizing the yacht was stolen from the sausolito marina 1:30 monday morning. they still won't say what the motive is. after some coaxing and some fortsful help police

convinced all 3 suspected thieves to and this 3 million dollar sailboat. >> i don't know if they are intoxicated because lot of alcohol on board. >> when you say a lot. >> couple cases. >>reporter: pacifica police say the boat thieves are 63-year-old leslie garner, 54-year-old darrio mira and 66-year-old if woman and they are both from santa cruz and recently arrested on alcohol related kharnlsz. investigators are looking into any connection to the yacht owner john froth the founder of okay lar signs. soft contact lens company. >> no small fete to take a boat of this size out of the slip and out of the bay. >>reporter: back at the sausalito marina some sailors are wondering how the boat thieves had the skill to navigate the yacht out of the marina but still manage to run it aground. >> something either went drastically wrong for them or they didn't know what they were doing but they certainly had the wherewithal to take it out of this marina about. >>reporter: now high tide

a picture of riders one man appears to be covering his nose because of the strong smell of smoke. incident forced bart to single track all trains triggering big delay. bart says it could not find the source of the haze which did eventually dissipate and things back to normal. >> crash on the track led to cal train delay in. you can see from sky 7 hd the vehicle involved in the crash train hit the car around 6:30 in san bruno. nobody was hurt and it appears that nobody was in the car at the time. car was just tossed as you can see by the impact. both sets of track in the area were closed for just over an hour or so. service is back to normal tonight. no word yet on why the car was off the track. >> breaking news san francisco. police say they have now recovered a high powered rifle that was stolen from an unmarked police car saturday night in south of market district. they aren't saying where they found the ar 15 or if there have been any arrest made. >> 2 children reunited with the mother in san jose after being

held for ransom for 18 months. tonight 3 suspects 2 from mount vernon washington and juarez mexico are in custody. authorities say the mother was here illegally looking for work. she asked suspects in washington to help bring her children to the u.s. she paid them repeatedly but never saw her kid. the people threatened to kill the children if she went to the authorities. despite that she did go to the authorities. the pair from washington now being held on federal felony charges in san jose. is memorial will take place on thursday for the 2 santa cruz police officers shot and killed in the line of duty last tuesday. motorcade procession thursday morning ocean street and travel over highway 17. memorial for detective sergeant baker and detective butler was moved to the hp pavilion in san jose to accommodate expected to be a large crowd. service is set to begin at noon. we will broadcast it here live

along with the tears were burst of laughter. those with knew and loved richard say you can't talk about him without smiling. hundreds gather at santa clara high school his alma mater to remember him. anthony butler knew vega as teacher aid. >> never acknowledge as less than a teacher. considered me one of the teachers. he would always give me a big man hug and say love you butler. >>reporter: he was shot and killed sunday nature near his home in campbell. gunman on the loose and motive unclear. friends family say it had to be a case of either mistaken identity or being at the wrong place at the wrong time. >> didn't know what they are doing or who they got. as far as i know. and i guarantee that karma will get them because he is one of the best people i knew. >> gathering took place in the middle of the football field. appropriate location considering vega played 4 years of football and inspired other others. >> richard wasn't the greatest player by any stretch but he

over many of the mountains region of the state in fact winter storm warning in effect for mountains including central sierra tomorrow 7:00 p.m. to wednesday at 10:00 p.m. in the lake tahoe area with 10 to 20 inches of snow from the approaching system. meanwhile live view from the east bay camera here in emeryville looking towards the bay bridge right now we have temperature readings of 47 degrees in san francisco. 49 in oak land. 48 in san jose. another live view from the south beach camera here in downtown san francisco looking along the bay bridge under partly cloudy mainly clear skies right now. we have temperature readings of 39 in santa rosa where it's pretty chilly already. 45 in napa and 46 in livermore. on we good to forecast feature we'll see clouds beginning to increase of night certainly thicken tomorrow in advance of the rainfall which we expect to begin late tomorrow or early tomorrow evening. first in the north bay then sweeping south ward showers may linger into thursday. we have a beach hazard advisory in effect through tuesday afternoon. tomorrow afternoon may dangerous sneaker wave stay away from the water edge and
