and agents were involved in the warrant sweep. he promises more arrest to follow. >> it's based on identifying a small number of individuals in this community involved in violent crime. >> there are other components. the threats said enforcement is a small part that true success is measured in community involvement. >> this afternoon, police accused of killing an elde elderly -- a girlfriend of a 69-year-old stanley jacobsen had been missing since february. jacobsen's body found in rise hiz floom a complex in san jose. it was discovered by his granddaughter under a pile of clothes and blankets.

police say jacobsen had been dead about a month. investigators say butler may have been defrauding jacobsen for insurance money. a group of lawmakers is closer to banning gun shows from the cow palace. mark leno prop yogs a law requiring supervisors to both give okay for any gun show to be held at the venue. the cow palace is on land owned by the state. >> last six months, within two miles from this very location here we have had 75 gun-related crimes. >> gun show organizer dz not return calls for comment. they say the gun show is the most popular show in the nation. >> 11 bay area mothers going to take their message to washington next wednesday. the group moms take the hill

police volunteers cleared out a homeless encampment this morning. it is one of 60 located throughout santa clara valley located just below san jose international airport. city cleared out about two dozen people, tents, tarps and bedding and chickens you saw there today after posting a notice there on monday. >> there is encouraging news about the economy tonight. the nation's unemployment rate dropped to 7.7%. labor zeptz employers added 236,000 jobs in february and wages increased. experts say it suggests businesses are confident about the economy. however, google today announced it's cutting 1200 jobs from it's motorola division. the 10% cut is on top of the 4,000 jobs cut in the summer. the cuts affect jobs in the united states, china and india.

google bought motorola in may. the division has been struggling to compete. and at and t amunsed it's hiring 500 new employees in the bay area including san francisco, napa and san rafael. at and t looking for outside plant technicians and splicing technicians. the company boasts it's the largest private employer of full time union employees. >> that surge was good news for the stock market. s and p 500 is now just 14 points from reaching an all-time record high. nasdaq composite closing at 3244. >> cardinals at the vatican have set the date to begin elected the next pope. the conclave will be beginning

germany. and customs officials found the opium. they say it's worth about $4,000 on the streets. >> lit let it burn is a policy adopted by the forest service when it comes to wildfires this summer. the forest service came in $400 million over budget last year. it instituted a more aggressive approach to fighting fire. it will let fires burn themselves out in remote areas that don't pose a danger to property or critical habitats. environmental groups ever praising the move. they say wildfires are an important part of healthy forest autos workers with fish and wildlife misspent millions of dollars over the last several years more than $5,000 uncovered last year. officials say a review found millions have been misspent. the money supposed to go to fund a purchase land but had been used to pay department
