begin and abc7 news reporter, katie marzullo, continues the coverage from the newsroom. >> at 7:45 the cardinals need to be in the chapel with the procession to the cistene chapel at 8:30 and at 8:45 everyone but the voting cardinals are asked to leave. here is a look at roof of the cistene chapel where we watch for the smoke. the chimney is on the right along the roof edge. white smoke means a new pope has been selected. black smoke means no pope. the cardinals can vote once today but they do not have to. if they do vote, we can expect smoke between 10:00 a.m. and noon our time. the pope need as two-thirds majority which would be 77 of the 115 voting cardinals. could we have a new pope today? here is our vatican spokesman. >> it is unlikely there would be white smoke on the first ballot.

what they found inside, it is what they found inside that is raising so many questions this morning. this happened at around 11:30 when a neighbor called to report smoke coming from the home. crews arrived and discovered an extensive marijuana growing operation inside. the home was abandon asked firefighters say they do know that the fire started in the basement but are not sure how much damage was caused to the home but they saw not a lot of dam, mostly smoke damage. at this point a lost questions remain about who may have been inside, who is connected to this marijuana-growing operation, and a lot of the neighbors say the homeowners have not lived here for years so the question, now, is, who has been inside? how did this fire start? all of it will be very much part of the much larger investigation that will begin right after daylight when the fire investigators arrive. live in novato for abc7 news.

>> more developing news, a pleasanton pre-school is holding meetings parents to answer questions of a criminal investigation town a child who was tied up for refusing to take a nap. it happened at center point christian pre-school, a complaint filed march 5 with the department of social services alleges a former teacher bound a two-year old girl's wrists and ankles with tame and made her sit on a cot while she took a photograph because the girl refused to take her nap. abc7 news reporter, amy hollyfield, will have more on the toker in 30 minutes. >> the c.h.p. is investigating a fatal accident involving a truck and a pedestrian. it was reported just after 4:00 this morning at highway 29 and white hall lane in napa county near st. helena. the investigation is just underway, and we will let you know more as details become available. a missing oakland woman's family would like your help finding her. the 31-year-old maskaleris was supposed to visit her brother in

warm day. thanks for joining us. mike will expand on that right now. awe have a lack of rain this morning and off to a dry start. we have the marine layer of clouds you saw over the golden gate bridge with fog in the north bay valley. we will call it partly cloudy around the bay at 50 through 7:00, we will be at 60 through noon and the sunshine is out hanging out in the mid-to-upper 60's in the afternoon and cool back to 62, still nice in the evening hours. inland we have the fog up north fading by 10:00 and it will become sunny and 65 by noon and check out the temperature in the afternoon, low-to-mid 70's, well above average and a pleasant evening in the mid-to-upper 60's. at the coast the clouds are more stubborn, clouds through 7:00, and 48, and still clouds through noon and 57, and we will see brighter conditions in the afternoon but it will be too late to get too much warming at 59. 54 in the edge hours. now, how is that commute?

together, team up on this investigation which is expected to begin in the next few minutes. now, this all happened last night at 11:30 in the evening when novato fire district got a call from a neighborhood that there was smoke coming from an abandoned home. necessity arrive and no one was inside but firefighters found an extensive marijuana operation inside. they are not sure at this point, until the investigation begins, how large the operation is. firefighters did say that the fire started in the basement. how it started will be part of the investigation. if the home was abandoned, the question is, who has been inside with the operation? neighbors say the homeowner hasn't been here in several years. that is also part of the investigation that will continue. a lot of questions that the investigators will have to tackle today. the novato fire investigator and
