it is a small dog with a very big role in his owner's life. karen survived the plane crash as child and that dog helps her cope with the anxiety she has had ever since. lilian kim is live at bart station. she must be so upset. >> reporter: so upset and devastated. this is just one station where bart riders with flyers for the missing dog. he disappeared on a southbound train either in san francisco or peninsula. >> sheer panic. i started screaming. i said -- oh, my god. >> it's been one day since she woke up in a bart train to find her dog gone. she and archie were heading home late wednesday night the san thn francisco spca fund-raising event. she had handbag on one side and archie in a carrier in the

other. >> i fell asleep. it was an accident. i woke up and he was gone. >> she has been looking for him round the clock going to shelters and filing reports. he is more than a pet. she is registered specially trained service dog. she suffers from extreme anxiety brought on by a plane crash when she was eight. >> with him, i don't feel the need on medication. that is how much comfort he brings me. i'm just devastated. >> so is her husband. he has been at his wife's side every minute since archie disappeared. >> i don't had i it's funny. for me and my wife, that is our little kid. >> they have put flyers for every bart station and what started as a thousand dollar reward has grown to $3,000

has ended with no arrest. sky7hd was over the neighborhood earlier this evening. a wanted parolee want real estate from police and the chase led him to san jose. he hopped fences and still on the loose tonight. we may never know the motive behind a deadly shootout on east bay freeway that killed a chp officer but we are learning more about the gunman in that attack. the officer kenyun youngstrom. investigation found that his killer was diagnosed as bipolar and prescribed medication back in 1997. the gun he used in the attack was legally purchased and registered. authorities say there was no indication that lacy was going to kill officers prior to the shooting on september 4th. >> two oakland city council

members accused of ethic violations insist they did nothing wrong. the auditor said they improperly told city employees who should get a $2 million demolition contract for the old oakland army base. brooks is accused of interfering for hiring of construction for the teen center and reid ordered city employees to waive a parking ticket. >> i have been a staff person for 14 years and elected official for 16 years. out of 30 years for employee, city staff is afraid of me. i don't think that is the days. >> brooks did not return our calls for comment. the audit has been forward to the state and the d.a.'s office as well as the f.b.i. to determine if any laws were broken here. >> dan: new at 11:00, a crime spree at u.c. berkeley, a crime wave at bancroft way.

since the first of the year, 25 thefts have been reported there. the problem is people don't keep an eye on their stuff. best thing according to police, put your belongings in a locker and lock it away for safekeeping. >> also new at 11:00, the search is on for a fresno mother who abandoned her three-month-old baby as a walmart store. the mother left the baby with a security guard and just left. workers called police who took the child into custody. investigators say the woman was acting erratically when she handed the baby to the guard. good news is the infant is healthy and apparently doing well. tonight a pa9d-year-old preschool teacher accused of trying to drug toddler needed her care is facing criminal charges. prosecutors filed misdemeanor counts of attempted child endangerment and assault against her. a fellow teacher at morgan hill she saw her putting a sleep aid

into sippy cups earlier this month. she supervised children one and two years of age. a warning tonight about hillsborough and burlingame residents about a bank security breach. an atm at the u.s. bank on burlingame avenue has been compromised with a card skimming device. the numbers on bank cards put into the atm were being swiped by thieves. several customer accounts were compromised so folks are being warned about this. new at 11:00, a public discussion about what to do with yosemite. the meeting was held at fort mason tonight. national park service has coming up with a restoration plan to replace the park's aging infrastructure. swimming pools and ice rinks could be on the to be demolished list. steps are being proposed to deal with congestion in the park. >> we want to go yosemite to see

available and these said he hated americans. he then boarded the plane and got into the cockpit. that is when cops and took the imposture into custody. >> a massachusetts woman is on quest to thank a stranger for a random act of kindness towards her and her boyfriend who is deployed in afghanistan. she returned to her car on sunday after picking up a cup of coffee. she spotted an envelope on the windshield. she thought it was a ticket but it turned out to be a note from a veteran who spotted a stick other her car half of my heart is in afghanistan. it contained $40 and noted thanking her boyfriend for his service. she plans to donate money for someone else in need. let's go back. we talked with sandhya patel about the wind that is out in tonight and more is coming.
