had been a little girl. >> i'm proud of her. she's she reacted bravely. >> oakland police are looking for a man they believe may have molested his 9-year-old daughter. >> the little 9-year-old girl is shaken. >> the incident happened yesterday on the 1200 block of 94th avenue. police say the girl was approached by a man she did not know, he grabbed her. >> he lifted her up off the ground. and he began to touch her all over her body. >> abc 7 news did not use names or faces of children who have within been victims of a sex crime. serve saying they almost took my sister awaichl i'm like, i'm like, oh mirks god. then, i started running. >> family and friends were able to scare the man away before he can snatch the girl and possibly take her to a waiting car.

police released this video in it, you can see the suspect's car being parked then leaving the area. later you can see a man walking on the sidewalk passing the girl's home. police believe he is their suspect and police say this is hot the first time they believe their suspect targeted a young girl in this area. in november police released this sketch of one two of men who tried to kidnap a girl. this is -- police believe the second man could be the suspect they're looking for today, police describe suspects as a hispanic male mid to late 20s, five 8, 270 pounds, light complexion, prominent ears, short spiked hair in front, long in the back. the suspect last seen wearing a gray shirt, black sleeves

officials investigating the cause of an early morning blaze that raged through six apartments near san jose avenue. one firefighter suffered a minor injury. the fire burned through upper floors of the building. >> a former san francisco firefighter went to sacramento today to try to get fire retardant furniture out of your home. abc 7 news explains why.

life -- gay marriage. today the court wrestled with profound questions, what is the family? what is the purpose of marriage? while outside a giant crowd gathered to stand up and argue on all sides. abc's terry moran was right there inside the courtroom for the historic debate. >> reporter: you could sense how conflicted the supreme court justices were about this case -- how they doubted themselves and their power to wade into the marriage debate. justice anthony kennedy, the likely swing vote, said the court was heading into "uncharted waters," and justice samuel alito echoed him, noting that gay marriage in america is less than ten years old. >> you want us to step in and render a decision based on an assessment of the effects of this institution which is newer than cell phones or the internet? >> reporter: and justice antonin scalia was sharply skeptical that the court could create a constitutional right to gay marriage, after 200 years of laws banning it.
