police are following up on a few leads they have this morning. they say people in the community are outraged and are being helpful but no arrests have been made. they are offering a $25,000 reward for any information that will lead them to the gunman. the boy's family is by his side. his grandparents were going in and his father has been here all morning. they are hoping he will be able to go home today. they hope to get him a new phone very soon and they do not want to live in that neighborhood anymore. live in oakland for abc7 news. >> thanks. happening now, clean up crews are mopping up after a water main break in east palo alto. we were there at 9:00 a.m. after the break was reported. water ran down several blocks but there does not appear to be real damage. service is shut off while american water replaces the water main. workers are hoping to have the pipes back in working order later today. >> new this morning, san

francisco police are looking for the gunman in an overnight drive-by shooting in 9 lower haight. someone in a car shot 5020-year-old in another car and injured a 32-year-old who was in a third vehicle. the 20-year-old drove himself to the hospital where he was treated for injuries to his arm. the 32-year-old flag the down police with injuries to his we face. so far, there has been no description of the gunman. one person has been released from the hospital but two remain in critical condition following a head on collision in richmond. it happened around 8:00 on 37th street. a ask -- camaro crashed head on into a pickup and that flipped. the driver of the vehicle was underage and was drinking. >> a woman crashed her car in the side of this house in

bayview just before 7:00 this morning. the crash punched a hole in the side of the house. the driver ran off. no one inside was hurt. >> happening now, court wrapped up in a sex abuse lawsuit involving a school district and a victim would claims she was assaulted by her teachers years ago and administrators did nothing. the district attorney, rather, the district is trying to get the case then out. now we go to abc7 news reporter katie marzullo live in martinez. >> that is what the case was about, having it thrown ought altogether. that is what the school district wants. the judge did not end up ruling on that, this morning. remember, this is a civil case. the case has been filed against the school district as well as three former administrators. it accuses the administration and those administrators of covering up, of concealing the sexual abuse of the woman. the district arguing this morning that time has run out and the statute of limitations

is up as the abuse happened back in the early 1990's but her attorneys say that is not true, that since this case specifically about the concealment of the abuse, the clock only started when the coverup was uncovered and that was just last year when a "contra costa times" reporter did an investigative piece and found documents claiming the administration did know of the abuse. >> the district is asking for a get out of jail free card saying they did such a good job concealing what they knew that the woman's case should be thrown out. we are confident that argument will not prespree. >> she was rained and me lived over several years back in the early 1990's when slow was 12 or 13 by a faculty member at the immediate school. first by a science teacher who has since committed suicide. and, then by a female p.e. teacher who abused her over

several years. that teacher is now serving time. again, this case is only about the district coverup. what the judge decided this both sides to periodto hear give written arguments with the next court date july 29 and if the case is not thrown out a trial date could be set on july 29. >> thank you, katie. happening now, san francisco mayor and on the way to china today for his first visit this as mayor. according to his office, the mayor left early this morning and will not be back until april 7. the mayor will meet with several dignitaries and visit his father's village. the mayor is also set to sit down with officials from the china development bank which is funding a lone for two huge residential projects in san francisco's hunter's point and treasure island. by the way, former mayor willie brown is part of the delegation.

>> a frightening alert for thousands of parents for an oklahoma dentist who may have been exposed to h.i.v. and other deadly infections. officials sent letters to 7,000 families treated by a dentist who has been practicing for 30 years. the investigation began when a young patient with no other risk factors tested positive for h.i.v. and hepatitis c. officials inspected the dental office. >> i would not let my nephews play with those instruments in his office. >> the centers for disease control has joined in the investigation but they say additional cases would be very unlikely. >> the obama administration is unveiling a plan to keen up gasoline and auto emissions but

significant. right now we are talking dry conditions. the fog not only has evaporated but winds have warmed us quickly an the bay with numbers ranging from the mid-50's where the forth has just lifted. here is a look from the camera and you can see how nice it is. 62 downtown. 55 at half moon bay with some clearing. temperatures are lagging here a little but elsewhere it is warming up quickly and low 60's for santa cruz and our roof camera was so cloudy but now it is nice and sunny and mild. but we have rain, too, in livermore at 67. and los gatos could flirt with upper 70's and possibly an 80 down toward monterey county. this afternoon, sunny and warmer with showers over the weekend, and it looks like sunday easter is the day that will be most

active and a sunny start to april a couple days left of march and today is the warmest and sunniest. tone, 40's and 50's and low clouds will be back and dry at 52 in oak. we are warm from a degree to seven degrees warmer, especially in the east bay despite the fog you are still warming up in the not bay the we have a weak ridge being pumped up ahead of the next system, a broad area of low pressure and that is aiding in the warm-up but it is also going to bring the showers our way when it moves closer tomorrow. tomorrow will be a much different day with mostly cloudy skies. we will bring in the clouds in advance of the system so tomorrow, at 9:00, not a lot going on but we will see isolated showers throughout the afternoon on saturday. here comes easter late saturday night into early sunday and we are looking at light scattered showers, north bay, and maybe a

thunderstorm toward the valley in the afternoon and higher elevations and 1:00 o'clock, look at that, we have light rain around the bay and we will clear out late sunday night and april is going dry. lots of sunshine from north to south and upper elevation, a few showers and upper 60's in yosemite and at home temperatures are comfortable in the mid-70's and 75 in palo alto and san francisco numbers are climbing through the 60's and maybe 70. low-to-mid 70's in the north bay despite the slow start, 71 in hayward and 75 for castro valley and pleasanton is 75 and tonight this is a night where you are glad you have tickets. it will be a nice evening at the ballpark with temperatures in the 60's, dropping to the 50's. ahead, scattered showers on sunday, easter is the best bet and dry monday, tuesday, and wednesday with more rain on thursday. abc7 news has another great
