let's go back to that shooting in oakland. gunfire broke out about an hour ago. a child has been wounded. abc 7 news is live on the scene for us. >> that is right. we're able to confirm that there was a young girl involved. she was injured perhaps we're told grazed by a bullet or perhaps cut by glass. that is what police are telling me. she was treated here at the scene and then, taken the hocht. it happened after 5:00 this evening. neighbors heard gunfire, there were several when we got here, seven casings on the groundful. we don't know who the intended target was.

this happened on 82nd avenue and a street. this is an ongoing situation. when arriving here, this area was full of police officers and now, you can see there are only two officers still investigating. >> thank you. abc 7 news learned the people killed in the horrible fiery crash were from petta luma. a big rig driver chokd on food, passed out and then, hit three cars. people are mourning the loss of the cutchel. >> we're on cascade court where the 76-year-old and 74-year-old lived for many years.

neighbors here cannot believe they're now gone. they were killed yesterday. the chp says a big rig crashed through the center guardrail. chp says the driver chokd on food and passed out. neighbors here say the two were loving, and kind people. >> they were really lovely people. loved their church, good to the poor, looked after the homeless. just very lovely people. >> a flower and card was left today. they leave behind five adult children we're told the couple immigrated to california from laos many years ago. the driver and other victims remain hospitalized tonight in sacramento. >> thank you, cornell.

police have complained their radios weren't working and we now know y an independent report confirms that cell towers are the culprit. >> problem surrounding police radios were magnified the day in july the day the president arrived at fox theater. a large contingent of police were outside to handle problems. many said they had trouble communicating on radios. there had been numerous complaints about glitches of the radio system just had been installed in 2011, the year before. it had been riddled with interfere yens from the start. barry heads the police officer association. >> it doesn't work and you don't know the time or place

update on breaking news at the top of the newscast. a 10-year-old girl was graze bid a bullet during a shooting at oakland. sky 7 was over the scene after the shooting happened. he the family member did take her to the hospital to be checked out. again, grazed by a bullet. she was playing in a family member's front yard. a bullet grazed her arm. the gunman is still on the lose. >> thousands of soldiers are marching in pung yang in support of north korea's call to arms. kim jung un ordered preparations for an attack on the united states and south korea. >> tuesday, i sat down with

california condor is perched on the edge of recovery. two decades ago, nearly exstikt but now, numbers are growing. however interest there is a new threat emerging. you're going to see how kit be stopped. california kondor is the largest land bird in north america. an adult can weigh as much as 31 pounds with a wingspan up to 10 feet. thousands of the birds once

called california home. but a now banned pesticide, ddt destroyed the eggs and the birds almost disappeared. >> population low is 22 birds in 1982. >> kelly sorenson with s.with california wildlife society. they've been working to return the california condor to the wild. they bought 80 acres to provide a safe home from condors. the birds come from captive breeding program autos we ready the condors raised in zoos for the wild. >> it's a slow process. ne don't lay eggs until they're five years old f they live to 20, they may only lay five eggs during that time. out of a total of 404 birds across the southwest.

last night giants extended a contract of manager bruce bochy today making sure buster posey would stick around as well, signing him to a nine year, $167 million contract.
