you can see this morning panels cover the glass and steel doors that were smashed in yesterday. this video was shot after the incident. witnesses say he crashed into a beer display and swung a club at customers. four people were hurt, one seriously. they have not released the name of driver but the car is registered to a hamid za hid. a store worker who asked not to be identified a store display helped stop the car. >> looks like he -- when he was driving through the store. >> this video, paramedics are helping one injured on the floor. other shoppers made a dash for the doors to get to safety. >> jury deliberations are set to begin this morning in a federal wrongful death case filed by the widow of a barbershop owner who was killed by oakland police.

derek jones was shot dead by two oakland police officers responding to a domestic disturbance call back in 2010. jones ran when the officers tried to question them and they fired six rounds believing he was in the process of pulling out a gun. a search of the scene failed to show up any firearms. his widow is seeking unspecified damages. the newest members of the oakland police department will hit the streets today. 38 newly sworn officers will join other officers today. the department now has a total of 649 officers, that is still well below the 837 they had in 2008 nau. new police academy started monday with 51 recruits. >> kim jong un is gathering legislators for a session today. it comes one day after they declared that building nuclear weapons and the economy are the

top priorities for north korea. meeting of the supreme people's assembly follow daily threats that vows nuclear strikes on both south korea and the u.s. we'll have a live report from washington. >> eric: we should find out if colorado prosecutors will can see the death penalty will can see the death penalty against james holmes. prosecutors rejected a plea deal from the defense because holmes' terrence wouldn't release results of a psychiatric tests. he is accused of opening fire inside a packed theater last july killing 12 people and wounding 60 others. capital punishment is legal in colorado, state has not executed anyone since 1977. >> they are trying to reach a

final agreement on immigration reform plan. they agreed on a provision that will allow thousands of workers with limited skills to enter the u.s. a group of eight senators say they have agreed on the plan. it calls for giving $11 million undocumented immigrants a pass to citizenship. some republican senators say more details need to be woushgd out. a rally will take place in oakland today calling for full citizenship for all immigrants and open borders. it starts at noon at the plaza in fruitvale district. a march will follow at 1:00 p.m. into down oakland. >> new from overnight, a fast moving storm hit parts of the bay area. in solano county here is some of the lightning that struck in suisun city. in stockton, heavy rain captured on video. you can hear the rain and if you listen closely you can hear the thunder. >> weather service issued

forecast. >> 4:42, a heavy police presence will be around courthouse in texas today followed the shooting death of another official. mike mcclellan and wife were found shot to death at their home. his assistant d.a. was gunned down on courthouse steps. they say she was army veteran that kept himself armed at all times. investigators think the murders may be connected. >> eric: chp is investigating a fire that broke out on a bus on eastbound interstate 80 in vallejo last night. flames spread and threatened a nearby apartment building. lilian kim shows us how close it came to people's homes. >> had is video shot by a motorist going west on interstate 80. it shows a tour bus engulfed in flames. luckily there were no passengers aboard and the driver made it out safely, but the flames spread quickly to several trees

that sit between the interstate and an apartment building. people that live down the street ran out of their homes to see a dark plume of smoke. >> i saw sparks were coming down and people were getting their stuff. >> the vallejo vallejo fire department said embers burned a fence and other lawn equipment. firefighters were able to keep it from burning down. firefighters say it could have been a lot worse. trees are full of oil and highly flammable. >> keep in mind, they have needles, pine needles and other types of leaving on top of the roofs that caught fire. >> reporter: traffic on interstate 80 slowed to a crawl as the fire was happening. it's unclear what caused fire but it is believed to have started in the engine. >> the driver was able to walk away from the fire but was being looked at for possible smoke

inhalation. >> one of the seven marines killed in a nevada explosion will be laid to rest today. funeral services for 221-year-old sergeant will take place in north carolina. he died during a training accident in hop land. he and six fellow marines were killed when a mortar shell explode while still in fire tube. eight others were injured in the blast. >> eric: federal aviation officials are beginning an investigation into a deadly helicopter crash. burned wreckage was spotted yesterday but no survivors 6 been found. officials say the chopper crew had rescued a stranded know mobiler and was taking him to get medical care when it went down 120 miles north of anchorage. fog delayed the search yesterday but international guard helicopter hopes to reach the crash scene by this morning.

we have yellow as you are coming across the san mateo bridge over towards hayward you are seeing a few yellows. we do have light to moderate showers out there, mainly over the bay water and heading down to the south bay. reduced visibility, one and a half mile at half moon bay and three at novato. notice the sporadic in nature, it may be dry where you are but if you are commuting you may run into wet weather this morning. as we head into the afternoon hours, scattered showers still possible. temperatures in the low to upper 60s around the bay. mid to upper 60s inland and mid-50s to low 60s at the coast. good morning. that wet weather has caused a bit of flooding through oakland along northbound 880 and eastbound 980. three inches of standing water out there. make sure you dry in those center lanes. live look, here
