foot, 40,000 ton oil tanker overseas raymar hit what is known as the echo tower of the bay bridge on the san francisco side. piloting the sthaip day day, captain guy clees, today, an investigative committee of the board of pilot commissioners said it believes the accident was the result of the misconduct and that his license should be suspended or revoked. the board accepted recommendations now, the face case will go before a judge. the investigation said clees failed to manage the bridge, lacked or lost situational awareness and was complacent. he abruptly changed course when learning of a radar malfunction affecting his route. he chose a path to a smaller gap in towers. there was $1.4 million in damage to the bridge fender. and there were no injuries. the lawyers say he acted appropriately. >> the stand jarred not perfection.

a second missing hiker has been nound a southern california forest. authorities air lifted 8-year-old kendall jack from cleveland national forest today shech and a friend got lost after hiking in the area, today, searchers heard the cries for help and found her clinging to a steep hillside. she was dehydrated but alert. one searcher fell 60 feet during the rescue. he was air lifted with a head injury. a pinole police officer proved he's never off duty even when on vacation. we have surveillance video from honolulu international airport showing a woman assaulting a security guard. nobody was coming to her aid.

on jefferson street. one officer opened fire, wounding something who had nothing to do with the robbery. nick? >> clearly a case of mistaken identity. one employee at 10th and clay leaving work. she says three men were in dark clothing approached her, she ran back into the restaurant and called 911. events after that would lead to a teen being shot. they're stressed there are several moving parts. and and minutes later the first unit arrived less than two minutes after that, receiving a second call

stating the restaurant had been robbed but it was disconnected. and says after the officer arrived additional units were on the scene spotted and fit the description of the suspect at 5th and jeff jer yirson. jordan says the officer percent yeefd a threat, firing a single round. >> officers were directed there by a witness. someone that knew about the robbery. i believe officers have the right to follow up on that. take action. >> all three teens were detained. police say teen wounded is 15 or 16 years old. they say he was grazed by the bullet. officers would still learn neither teen shot nor his two friends were involved in the crime. chief jordan would not say what the perceived threat was. now, the department must
