fled the area. >>the man led the san francisco police, the california highway patrol and daly city officers on a chase from san francisco to daly city and back. as he approached the campus of san francisco state, he slowed the ford escape taxi and ran as it rolled on to the campus. police took off but lost him. in l some students saw the end of the chase unfold. >> we saw a taxicab roll it and he jumped out before it stops and it slammed into the polls and a cop pulls up. >> this is the 40th year behind the wheel of a taxi but he says this surprised him. >> desperate people doing stupid things. you have to be perceptive who you let in the cab. this person wasn't even a passenger.

you cannot guard against this situation. >> san francisco csi are collecting evidence from the taxi and looking at surveillance video which will be integral in catching the man who stole the cab. >> in 2013 there is a video surveillance everywhere and that is usually part of the investigation. >> police say when they look at video they will know who they are looking for and will release a description to the public to get the public's help catching this thief. >> new this morning, one person's recovering in the hospital after a frightening rollover crash in san francisco. the s.u.v. was birthday -- broa. it is not known if alcohol is a factor. >> in the south bay is search is underway for a gunman who shot a

man twice in the chest. this is south white road in east san jose. miss say it appears to be a gang-related drive by shooting. they arething the case as an attempted homicide until they have all the information. they say the man was shot at 4:00 this o but waited more than three hours before getting help. he walked to a house a few blocks away after being shot. >> we have to take him to the hospital. i dialed 9-1-1. he doesn't want to go to the hospital but he wants to us take him. i said, why? you got shot. >> he says the victim is 34-year-old son and the injuries are not considered to be life threatening. >> on the peninsula police are looking for two men who bet up and robbed a woman at the motel 6 on shoreway road. sky 7 captured this video of the scene. police were called to the hotel

for a disturbance this morning. a woman was stay there and told the officers two male acquaintances assaulted her and stole from her. the police investigating. >> happening now, grief counselors after at a ambulance company consoling workers who lost a friend. the 34-year-old quinn boyer died yesterday afternoon after being shot point blank in oakland open tuesday morning while sitting in a car. his car crashed into a ravine. quinn boyer was a paramedic for santa clara ambulance in san jose. so far, investigators have very few lieds and are not sure why quinn boyer was targeted. >> a messy water main break on the peninsula kept public works crews busy. look at this, water flooded the intersection in san mateo. the water did not reach any homes. city crews managed to cap the leak and the flooding subsided. >> we have scattered showers around the bay including cells in marin county and in san

the clouds look like they have the vertical development. they do. they puffy. we have overall more cloud cover in the south and east by. from the roof camera, you will notice we have a few sunny breaks but the possibility still exists for a few showers. 63 in oakland. 62 in san jose. it has been sunny all morning. we are looking at lots of dense fog at the cost. here is another look you can see the clouds, and when it is included over it looks threatening and the possibility of cloud cover to keep the numbers cooling in the north bay, 63 in los gatos. the forecast highlights show sun this afternoon, with a slight chance of showers. showers for the weekend. the best chance will be on sunday. a weak system is headed our way tomorrow morning. it will be sunny and a lot warmer the middle of next week. we are talking beach weather. the lows tonight, a possibility of rain to the north bay. santa rosa is 47. upper 40's in vallejo.

low 50's in palo alto. you will notice we are in between systems. but we have a fast zonal flow with a weak ridge to the south bringing a few sunny breaks and the possibility of a shower. it is not out of the question today to have a shower. hopefully it will be shirt lived. we have a couple of systems in the pack that will continue to keep us in the risk of showers. as we go through the rest of the afternoon, at 11:00, the showers are verifying from our computer animation 10:00 tonight, still a lost should cover. by the time we hit 8:00 tomorrow morning, we are looking at cloverdale, sonoma county, could be looking at showers. the rest of saturday is not bad but sunday, 7:00 in the morning, from the san mateo coast, through san francisco, and up to vallejo could see a few showers. most of the activity remains offshore by the end of the day and through the overnight hours.
