chest. by a san francisco police officer. we have video from just after 2:00 this morning when the two victims arrived. police say it all started when a group of men approached another group of men approached a bar at 17th and valencia. one man pulled a gun. well, after this morning's investigation police determined it was a very real looking replica semiautomatic weapon but no one knew that at the time. and this all unfolded right across the street from the mission police station. frightened witnesses ran over and told officers there was a man outside pointing a gun on the crowded street corner. >> officers ran out of mission station and found the suspect pointing the gun at the other group. and fired upon the suspect and in an effort to prevent serious injury or death to the other citizens. >> again, the man who was the suspect is now the victim. he and another man are being

traetd for serious life-threatening injuries. only one officers fired his gun but both officers are on paid administrative leave per protocol for the next ten days. there were statements taken from witnesses. and they say they are still looking into whether the altercation that started this all was gang related. reporting live from san francisco, abc 7 news. >> thank you, kiera, and no officers injured there. a deadly shooting happened in concorde late yesterday. police say a man was killed during a large party near monument boulevard around 8:00. the victims are identified as 25-year-old ismael garcia ramirez of brentwood. officers were given a description of the gunman and they have now arrested the suspect. 29-year-old concorde resident, vincent ochoa at an apartment complex nearby. police say an argument preceded

that shooting. it is the first homicide of the year for concorde. getting back to normal in south san francisco after a locomotive leaked fuel on to the tracks last night. that shut down service to the south city station but now all of the trains are stopping there with only minor delays reported. the leak happened on the tracks between the bay shore and south san francisco cal train stations. in this video, you can see the diesel fuel leaking from the tank of the southbound locomotive, after it struck some debris on the tracks. it happened around 7:30 last night. around 800 gallons of fuel spilled. cal train service between the bay shore and south san francisco stations had to be limited to a single track last night but again it is getting back to normal this morning. fire officials say that spill has not posed a danger to the public. the family after 2-year-old oakland boy is distraught after he was injured due it a side show on the freeway. this morning, that toddler is recovering from major surgery to

his head and neck. the side show collision happened last month, along 880 in san leandro. abc 7 reporter, lisa, has new details from the boy's family. >> my baby now. >> reporter: 2-year-old cori abrams is in the intensive care unit right now, having a six-hour disk fusion surgery to repair his broken neck. his brother drove on 880 south in san leandro. >> i can't even describe it. it's undescribable. >> jasmine glenn was driving her black impalla while her son and mother were in the back seat and suddenly a side show erupted right in front of her. >> last thing i remember saying was, look at the guy doing the doughnuts. and i woke up in the hospital. >> jasmine glenn's chevy was rear-ended by a big rig. these are photos of her smashed

car. she was the only one conscious after the crash. >> after the big rig hit us, we spun out of control. after we stopped we were facing coming traffic. >> corey was the most seriously hurt. but he rushed to kaiser in glenwood. nothing was found wrong with him but he couldn't move his head. he was rushed to kaiser oakland and had surgery tuesday. >> why you would do a side show on the freeway, if you want to put your life in danger, do it somewhere else. >> this wasn't the first time that a side show took place on 880. in january, several cars were involved near the oakland coliseum. now this family is making a public plea. >> i encourage young parents who have children out there driving to know that this type of

behavior is totally unacceptable. >> police have no leads on the driver involved on the side show. the big rig driver was not cited. in the newsroom, abc 7 news. >> news this morning, bay area landfill workers who will meet in about an hour at 10:00 this morning in livermoore to discuss whether to strike against their employer, waste management. negotiations are stalled over wages and what the union calls dangerous working conditions. those talks broke down after the company rejected a union proposal to give workers a 50 cents an hour raise. we will be watching this story as it develops and we'll let you know whether a landfill strike is called. it is happening right now, more than 5,000 runners are taking part in a new half marathon in san francisco this morning. the inaugural trans america rock and roll run is under way. can you see them there on the right side of the video, crossing the golden gate bridge. the race began at 7:00 near

aquatic park and winds through the marina. the field, pra siddo, across the golden gate bridge and back to the starting line. 1500 runners from 15 countries are taking part in this sold-out race. afterwards, they will be entertained by rock band in the aquatic park. this is open to the public and is free. that half marathon is expected to cause delays getting to the marina area until around 11:30 this morning. there are also street closures and detours in the area you see highlighted there. you can also expect heavy traffic around civic center plaza because of the greek independence day celebration, which is between noon and 6:00 p.m. and delays are likely around at&t park before and after the giants afternoon game. we have a full list of all of the detours, all the road closures, on our website. abc 7 news.com, just chick on see it on tv. lots of things going on today.

this is abc 7 news. new this morning, more radio problems for oakland police as they try to launch a new radio network, a public safety channels. the city recently today rebuild its public safety radio system due to interference problems. now the group that oversees the east bay's mutual aid system is refusing to give oakland agencies access because the city has not paid its membership dues. today's oakland tribune reports

the east bay regional communications agency refuses to program oakland public safety radios into its system of talk groups. they allow agencies throughout alameda counties to talk directly with one another during emergencies. the $72 million network was built primarily with federal funding after the 9/11 attacks. people in san francisco's ocean view district are coming together to deal with the urban blight that's built up in their neighborhood. city officials joined residents and local business owners in a community walk to examine chals in the district. graffiti, illegal dumping and buildings neglected for years have made parts of the neighborhood an eyesore. people are really frustrated. they are now partnering with the city it try to deal with the problem. >> we have a new program out of the mayor's office. we have a conflict of things happening where residents are involved. we have support from the city that uproots the blight we have

here in the neighborhood. >> the mayor's offices established the invest in neighborhoods initiative to help economic development in 25 san francisco neighborhoods, including ocean view. >> it is the amazing tsa take down that has gone viral. an off duty police officer coming to rescue of a tsa agent in hawaii. the officer, just walking through the airport, getting ready to fly home, now he is talking about what happened. >> reporter: just as the woman began confronting a tsa agent at honolulu international airport, justin rogers was just about to go through security to catch his flight home. >> in the airport, they have officers for that, and so i turned back around and i heard, what i thought was, you know, skin to skin contact like somebody getting punched. >> reporter: in the surveillance video you can see the woman punching the tsa agent, then put

her in head lock and that's when rogers literally jumped into the action. >> i knew what i would have to do to pull her off of her because of way they were situated. i just decided to use a simple take down to move her to the ground. >> reporter: once on the ground, several other agents came to help. 43-year-old hyola was arrested and taken to the mental unit a at local hospital. after rogers provided a statement to honolulu authorities, he was able to make his flight back home. since then, the video of his airport take down has gone viral. this is the first shift for rogers after vacationing in hawaii. he said he is surprised at at attention he is getting just for stepping in to help. he was in aed withing in sacramento and that's when he started noticing the attention. >> at one point, i was standing in a line waiting for food or cake, and the people in front of me were talking to each other

and here is a live look towards the embarcadaro and bay bridge. still a lot of gray skies. cloudy conditions. currently 56 in san francisco for the half marathoners. oakland, 59. san jose, 56. santa cruz at 53. another beautiful live shot for you from emoriville looking out towards the golden gate bridge. do look out for traffic today. i don't think you will need your umbrella for most of the afternoon. i will tell you why in a bit. santa rosa 57 as well as fairfield. we still have the slight chance of showers in the forecast. but i'll show you the timing, it looks like it'll work out for you throughout the day. cloudy and cooler today and very warm work week ahead. that's the mixed bag carolyn was talking about. if you're heading to the game, it looks mostly cloudy but dry. temperatures right around 1:05 and 59 degrees. a lot of folks will head there earlier today and just staying near 60 degrees even by the time the game ends.

here is a look at satellite radar model. we have this area of low pressure. this will bring us the cloudy and cool conditions with spotty measly limited showers. then high pressure over the pacific. this will build midweek, bringing us temperatures into the 80s in the interior valley. so the forecast model, just shows a lot of cloud cover throughout the rest of the day. still a chance of a light shower here and there. maybe in gill roy. but it is going to be very light showers at best. so tonight is actually when we will get our best chances of some light rain and some drizzle and mist. 11:00 tonight, parts of the north bay, maybe along the peninsula coast. clouds move in. little bit more moderate rain fall, but this is still pretty light overall. in fact, monday morning, very clear and cool for you with breezy conditions monday afternoon. rain fall totals, very light.

santa clara county. jeffrey rosen quietly gave his top deputies vacation benefits they could later convert to cash. the paper says the county's top administrator is investigating whether those same perks must now be offered to tens of thousands of other union employees. that could potentially wipe out any savings the county achieved by renegotiating wages and benefits in the first place. this is an incredible series of circumstances that allowed a family of five to survive a car crash into the american river. their suv went off highway 50, flipping over into the middle of the river. by chance, a can kayaker with emergency medical experience was right there. he pulled three children to safety. then went back for the driver. who was trapped upside down, his head held up by his waive wooif. >> wife. >> i was afraid if i cut his
