morning. an east bay father and daughter killed last year were remembered last night in concord. they were hit by a car while riding their bikes along treat boulevard. abc7 news reporter sergio quintana joins us with more. sergio? >> ama, for about an hour this evening more than a few dozen people actually were gathered around the treat that was decorated with flowers and stuffed animals and beads. it has basically become the memorial spot that marks where the father and daughter were killed. it was an emotional vigil to honor41-year-old nuri and among those overcome by emotions, she lost her husband and daughter in the tragic class a year ago today. it is never okay.

>> for much of the vigil she clung to her 12-year-old daughter, hannah. they were joined by family and friends around this tree. it has become the memorial spot marking where they were killed. the two were riding their bicycles when a white cadillac ease i ask late -- escalate careened out of control and ran them down. david rosen has since been sentenced to seven years in jail and because he was a minor when this happened, he will be released from a juvenile tau silt when he turns -- juvenile facility when he turns 21. they are trying to move around the punishment. >> what is done is is done. he didn't follow them and the punishment was three years until he is 21. our goal as a family and a community is going forward. >> the color purple played a part and the friends and family had purple sweaters and violets at the foot of the tree. more than 100 people turned out. some were family and others were friends and neighbors who

wanted to show their support. >> everybody they are loving their support. i wake up and all of my friends and family. >> now tomorrow morning a park bench at woodside elementary school will be dedicated in her honor in. that's where the nine-year-old went to school. abc7 news. >> thank you, sergio. two men remain in critical condition after being shot by san francisco police in the mission district. the shooting took place at 17th and valencia outside the mission police station. it happened around 2:00 a.m. after the bars closed for the night. police tell us the trouble started with a dispute between two men in groups. one group pointed a gun a at the other group. >> officers ran out and found the suspect pointing the gun at the other group and fired upon the suspect in an effort

to prevent death to the citizens. >> it turned out to be a real firearm. this morning's shooting is the fifth time in less than a week after police shot a person in the bay area. oakland police fired on a suspect who was holding what turned out to be a fake gun. officers mistakenly shot a teenager during a search for a suspected it robber. two shootings took place on tuesday. they fired on a man and napa police fired on a man wanted for violating probation. there was quite a commotion in san francisco today. that's because no one knew if guns were fake. police were called to fifth and mission streets shortly before 3:00 on report of suspicious activity. an artist at the scene doesn't blame people for the way they reacted. >> the police officers that

were doing their job and the citizens that were watching, they don't know if it is a fake gun. they don't know if it is a toy bb gun. they don't though we were just shooting a music video. >> the rap video was about a bank robbery. police seized two fake guns and a bill clinton mask. seven people were detained until until -- and told to get permission from the city next time. >> a woman died during a spring break trip to santa barbara. she disappeared late friday evening. she attended cal poly san luis obispo. her body was found in the pacific yesterday morning. a man's body washed up near half moon bay earlier this evening. it happened after 5:00 at miramar beach. people on the beach spotted the body. san mateo county sheriff deputies removed the man from the surf. the coroner is trying to identify him and determine how he died. ?ai a building in the san

francisco district needs major repairs after a car slammed into. it you can see where plastic sheeting covers the business. the crash happened around 2:20. nobody was hurt. building inspectors yellow tagged the building meaning only several people can enter the property until it is stabilized. senators are working on a compromise to expand federal background checks on gun sales. it is the hot button issue over gun reform. it is personal freedom on one side and safety on the other. >> what this is about is the gun industry to sell as many guns to as many people as possible even if they are deranged. even if they are mentally ill. even if they have a criminal background. they don't care. they want to sell guns. >> everybody wants the same goal and that is to keep the guns out of the hands of the criminals. the and become ground -- and the background checks are

miles an hour here. 28 mile an hour in oakland. and right now the temperatures are cool and they will be dropping further this evening into the low 40s and 53 san francisco and 54 half moon bay. a look at the east bay where we have the wet pavement. slick roadways and 50 in fairfield and 54 in union city. your forecast highlights are scattered showers and breezy through the overnight hours. the rain will fall into the dawn. the san mateo coast and this is where we could see the windest conditions all day long. then the wind subsides and 80 tuesday and into the mid80s on wednesday. winter weather advisory, 6:00 tomorrow, 2 to sikdz inches of snow. gusts have been over 50 miles an hour. there pretty treacherous. low 40s santa rosa and 44 in concord with 45 in morgan hill. by the time the sun comes up tomorrow, the rain is over.

the low pressure, strong will be is heading to the sierra nevada and bringing us the showers. with the pressure gradient building in, we are looking at a very windy time of it. here is a look at our wind forecast. 50 mile-an-hour winds along the coast. 10:00 tomorrow, 43 mile an hour wind gusts are possible in san rafael with 37 mile an hour wind gusts in livermore. the winds stay up toward35 miles an hour and upwards of 48 miles an hour along the coast. by the early morning hours the rain is south of here and the scouring out of cloud cover rapidly due to the northwesterly winds. count on the blue skies, but we will not warm up until tuesday. the temperatures then will range anywhere from the low 60s at our coast with those gusty winds. mid60s from hayward and upper 60s and maybe a 70 or so out toward antioch and san jose. the accu-weather seven-day forecast is looking much, much warmer and then a little cooler with the on shore flow

in tonight's headlines, for the fifth time in less than a week, police officers shot somebody in the bay area. an early-morning shooting in san francisco left two men in critical condition. two groups were arguing in front of a police station when

someone pulled out what looked lake a gun. officers opened fire and the weapon was an air powered gun. a group of juveniles shooting a rap music video got a lifeless son from police. the video included a bank robbery that had cast members waiving replicas of guns. people thought they were real and called police. and this is the one-year anniversary of a tragic traffic accident in concord. a man and his daughter died when a teenager lost control of his car. a memorial vigil was held in his honor. new concerns about north korea. the pentagon has bolstered his missal defenses over tensions with north korea. and now north korea is using hollywood to sell its power to its people. joy new video released -- >> new video shows what used to be the white house under attack. they said hollywood made this movie showing the north destroying the enemy. it has been five days since

the family of a fallen american diplomat is telling the world about a woman who was living the dream. 25-year-old anne smedinghoff died after a suicide bomber targeted her convoy. their group was on the way to deliver textbooks to children in southern afghanistan. >> it was something she wanted to do. it was her passion and she really made a difference doing it. you can't regret that a -- that at all. >> she grabbed the gusto and accomplished an awful lot. >> secretary of state john kerry described him as vivacious, smart and capable. two teens are in custody for kid p thatting an 89-year-old woman and leaving her in the car trunk for two days. it started on march 18th

in delaware when margaret smith offered two teenage girls a ride across town. when the car stopped they took her keys and then forced her into the trunk of the car. for two days they ceft her there with no food, no water and no medication. they took her to rob her of cash and they dumped her at a remote cemetery, but she was not about to give up. >> i was criewlg -- i was crawling through the cemetery on hands and knees. no jacket and finally somebody found me. >> two teens were arrested for carjacking. smith says she is not angry, but she wants everybody to know how important it is to be kind. a documentary film maker died at his home. he once described his style to us. >> it is that stuff and the critic is able to define.

sunnyvale and cupertino. we have light to moderate rain south to the santa cruz mountains. in the sierra nevada there is snow. we are looking at a couple inches and half a foot there. the winds are gusting to 30 and 40 miles an hour and the visibility is a problem. a mile up in novato. we will be looking at the rain ending through the overnight hours. it is a quick mover. after that the clear skies and the gusty winds and in the hills for tomorrow from the north bay to the east bay and winds 50 miles an hour. a look ahead with less winds and a big time warm up tuesday, wednesday and an offshore flow. on shore flow on thursday and friday. still nice with numbers in the 60s and 70s. 50s at our coast.
