9, this accident still is in place blocking a lane out there. >> developing news in oak, we expect to learn more this morning about a series of raids in the east bay by oakland miss and the f.b.i. the crime sweep wrapped up around 1:00 o'clock a.m., with 15 warrants served and we saw several f.b.i. agents and tactical gear with fully automatic weapons and outside of the city tower apartment building at 7th and lyndon. raids took place in hayward, san leandro and antioch. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield will have an update from oakland in the next half hour. also in oakland this morning, police are investigating the city's 3st homicide of the year. the victim this time was a young mother. officers arrived at 54th street west of shaddick to find a woman in her 20's dead and her toddler nearby. it is not clear if the toddler saw her mother get shot but

two of the machines will dig their way 1.5 miles to north beach to create the central subway project. putting the machine together will take weeks. the project could take six years to complete. >> called earth pressure balance machine and they have a rotating cutter herd for soft ground and we anticipate drilling into soft ground. >> we will below a lot of the old infrastructure and buildup, we will below that. a lot of planning has gone into the project. >> part of the boring device that does the work is called cutterhead. it arrives tone. it can dig 40' a day. total cost is $1.6 billion. i asked a construction worker what one of the pieces weighs and he says 120 tons.

for one piece. >> this morning, investigators are still trying to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in the east bay. the discovery fire broke out near the yacht club before 7:00 last night. it spread to a second home as firefighters arrived on scene. sky 7 got video of firefighters working on the home where the fire began and much inside the two homes got out safely. >> this afternoon, two sisters accused of abusing children at an east bay daycare center are scheduled to make the first court appearance. the 35-year-old and 33-year-old face three counts of felony child abuse and are all under the age of 11 months and foundation swad telling methods at the universal pre-school in live more including children bound so tight they could not move or breathe properly. the women are being held in

flight arrival delays. here are the clouds, the thick layer, looking at the east bay hills this morning, from the bay bridge toll plaza. the rapidly falling temperatures from monday to wednesday, that is what you see, monday's high in yellow, wednesday's high in white and the difference in blue, san jose is 18 degrees cooler and everyone else is 20 to 27 degree temperature drop over a 48-hour timeframe. today, the clouds show we will be one degree warmer in san francisco, and the same in santa rosa at 64 and san jose, oak, concord and fremont one to four degrees cooler so today is going to be the coolest day. the clouds can really use the rain but it is not happening. most of us are in the 50's but for santa rosa at 49 and los gatos at 48. warm spot is oakland at 58 degrees and 54 in san francisco and san jose. here is a look at downtown, our

operation in several east bay locations that extend late into the night. agentsere seen in a neighborhood with assault rifles. now from oakland police headquarters. >> it wrapped up this morning and it was an intense operation involving oakland police and the f.b.i. and residents tell us it was confusing and many of the residents were forced from hems. here are the latest details we have received from police. they say they served 16 high-risk narcotics and weapons-related search warrants and witnesses say officers threw grenades to the apartment building at 7th last night in oakland and they described it as chaos. >> i heard the "boom." i ran outside. my kid was outside playing. i get to the lobby, there were so many police they put me on the wall and asked if i had guns the guns in guns? i said no, i'm looking for my
