around 6:30 a woman report add man tried to carjack her walking up to the window and pointed an ak-47-style weapon but got spooked. officers tracked the description and arrested the man a short time later. we will go to abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield for more on what officers found on the suspect and what we are learning about where he was headed. >> an attempted poisoning as a starbucks. san jose police will release more information on the arrest of a woman who tried to leave tainted drinks for customers to buy. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo is at the starbucks. >> customer-wise it is quiet. we have some employees inside getting the starbucks ready. in a couple of hours we will hear from the san jose police department, the major outstanding question this

morning. why? why would someone do this? police think they know who did it and were able to arrest a suspect yesterday after the incident. she is 50 years old. she is not suspected of working with anyone else or any group and they do not think she has done this anywhere else. it happened at starbucks in san jose. she walked in, sat two bottles of orange juice on the displace with the others and left the store. customers would saw her do it were obviously suspicious and they brought it to the attention of employees who smelled something training coming from the bottles and they called 9-1-1 and the fire department came out and investigated. they believe one of the bottles was a mix of orange juice and rubbing alcohol and the other orange juice and nail polish remover. one employee was able to get the woman's license plate as she ran away so police were able to track her down. after questioning her they

arrested her but the question is, why did she do this? we expect to hear that answer this morning. >> it is 4:32. a memorial fund has been set up for leila fowler found stabbed to death in her home on saturday dying from shock and blood loss from multiple stab wounds. a murder weapon has not been found and no suspect is released but investigators say they are pulling out all the stops to find the person responsible. >> the calvaries sheriff, california state patrol and the calvaries probation department have nearly completed and contacted and searched all known registered sex offenders in the area. >> her parents were at the press conference but were too desperate to speak and have been

"new york times" says agents took d.n.a. samples from dzhokhar tsarnaev's widow during an interrogation yesterday in rhode island but legal experts say even if the d.n.a. matches it doesn't prove she took part or knew anything about the plot. >> this morning, hayward firefighters are investigating the cause of an apartment fire that took the life of a 76-year-old woman. her husband and a neighbor suffered smoke inhalation and forced out by the heat. the neighbor tried to get to the bed-ridden woman but the flames were too intense. >> my husband went to the back and tried to get her out. the whole thing at the bed caught, just went right straight up. >> firefighters got there in three minutes and put the fire out quickly but the apartment was taped off as a crime scene. >> a man has been arrested after the car he was riding in crashed into a home during a pursuit in hayward.

police tried to pull over a car that was stolen from san francisco. the car sped away and crashes a short time later into this home yesterday. no one was injured. police arrested the passenger. they say he tossed out a gun. the driver is still loose. >> sheriff deputies were involved in another chase in hayward with deputies chasing a driver near simon street and western boulevard around 5:00. the car plowed down a tree and hit a pole. the driver got away. no one was hurt. >> the warm and dry conditions are leading to higher fire danger. >> watch out for 6:00 tonight or tomorrow when the red flag warning is with the highest fire danger. we have a wind advisory precipitating this as far as this it will start at 5:00 this evening through 11:00 tomorrow morning and the north bay hills and mountains and east bay hills

and diabolo range, that area will be breezy with gusts from 50 to 60 miles per hour. at 6:00, you can see the fastest wind over the ocean but the winds will come from the central valley headed to santa rosa and napa and forward. they pick up in intensity up to 44 miles per hour in fairfield and 26 in napa and 29 in santa rosa. up to 50 by midnight in forward and oakland and san rafael starting to feel the winds and 26 to 30 miles per hour and we will hang around the 20 to 40 miles per hour wind through tomorrow morning. as far as today, almost like yesterday, maybe a couple of degrees cooler we are starting off with the 40's and 50's and ending at 80's inland. we could be away from the 90's for a day but it comes back in the three-day forecast with record highs possible thursday and friday. leyla?

covering fremont and north bay and palo alto, this is abc7 news. >> 4:43. developing news in pittsburg with a possible new lead in the search for a kidnapping suspect. surveillance video shows an s.u.v. in the area of the kidnapping minutes before it happened and they believe it could be connected or it could belong to a witness. on friday a man grab add 2-year-old girl from her yard at the corner of raindrop circle and made it 50' and the mother shipped at him and the kidnapper put the girl down and took off. she was not hurt. >> transportation officials in san francisco are taking part in another community meeting to talk about major changes on polk street to accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists.

east bay hills and diabolo, above 1,000 feet that is where we have the highest danger for fire breaking out and for spreading rapidly on the gusts. that is up to 50 to 60 miles per hour but sustained winds are around 25 to 35. today, it will be another warmer-than-average day with low-to-mid 80's through santa clara valley and los gatos and gilroy are warmer at 88 degrees. the peninsula is a story of two areas to the north 75 in millbrae and to the south the low-to-mid 80's and along the coast mid-to-upper 60's and maybe a cloud or two more than yesterday but a lot of sunshine. low-to-mid 70's around downtown and seas latte and mid-to-upper 80's through the north bay valley and we are 15 to 20 degrees cooler at the beaches. richmond, berkeley, 70's, and everyone else is 80 to 81 along the east bay shore.

16 minutes and 580 from tracy to dublin is 20 minutes and 80 through berkeley, a very short 13-minute delay. >> this morning, federal investigators are expected to examine the wreckage of two planes that crashed in midair in southern california. one of the planes slammed into a ridge in los angeles county and emergency crews found the pilot's body in the wreckage. the other plane landed on a golf course ten miles to the west and three people on board have minor injuries. the f.a.a. investigators say the two planes collided 3,500' in the air and no indication if either saw the other aircraft. >> it is illegal in arizona if cities and counties to destroy guns turned over to police at community buy backs. the bill requires donated weapons be resold backed by republicans and the national rifle association who say destroying the weapons is a waste of taxpayer resources.
