>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> happening right now, a 50-year-old woman is in a santa clara county jail accused of trying to poison customers at a starbucks coffee shop. >> a customer made all the difference. employees at the starbucks and the fire department. ramineh behbehanian was caught and arrested yesterday. katie marzullo joins us with the story.

katie? >> the woman has been booked on attempted murder. police say the bottles of orange juice she left at the starbucks contained rubbing alcohol, enough to kill someone. >> customers at starbucks do not hesitate to get a cup coffee the morning after a woman placed poison orange juice in the case. >> maybe years ago, it would norprise me. today. >> the suspect, 50-year-old ramineh behbehanian, brought the tainted juice to the store in a star bucks bag. a customer saw what she did and alerted empls and the suspect overher the conversation and took off. employees called 9-1-1 but they could not have known how serious the situation was. >> according to the fire captain the quantity of rubbing alcohol inside the bottles was a lethal quantity. >> for that the woman has been booked on poining and attempted murder charges. police tracked her down quickly because an employee got her

license place number. is there a continuing danger? >> that is a good news in the case that leaves many uneasy. >> scary. lace every day and trust it that what you get is what you ordered. it is scary. >> to finish the thought, they do not believe there is a continuing net to the community right new. as for the motive? police do not have a motive and notpe rt date is set for thursday. i talked with corporate starbucks and they say after the incident they pulled all the juice from the shelf at the location and out of abundance of caution asked all starbucks in the bayea to check their juice supply but no tampering was found. >> a woman who was terrorized in a crime spree is speaking out this morning. police say an armed oregan man tried to carjack her after

kidnapping a man reportedly on the way to the russian consulate in san francisco. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield spoke with the victim and joins us. >> police were very impressed with how this victim handled herself with a gunpointed at her she refuseed to go with the man and kept him calm. she touched his forehead, his arrest, showed him pictures of her kids, anything to keep him from shooting her. >> he pulled the gun and stuck it in my face and said get in the pseer's side and i said, no, an or,nd i said no, i am not going anywhere with you. i started to push him out and i said, what is wrong? what is wrong? what do you need? >> she tried her best to stay calm when she was held up at the shoppingnter last night at 6:30. >> tried to keep him talking and keep him calm and i kept my

voice low. my focus was keeping my hand from shaking so he would not think i was nervous or scared. >> the 30-year-old we man, just before he tried to kidnap her he kidnapped a man pointing a gun at the man and demanding he drive him to a church so he could talk to a priest. the church was closed so they returned to the parking lot and the man was able to get away. at the same time the police got an alert from san francisco police about boyce. >> his mother contacted the san francisco police and said he was on his way to the russians consulate to seek asylum and she was worried because he suffers from ment illness and he was armed. >> she caught the eye of someone in the parking lot who was able to call 9-1-1 and she says she feels like she handled the situation well. >> i felt actually good about it because i thought, well, a lot of people said my god, it is scary at that time and i

thought, actually, for once i was in the right place at the right time. >> obviously she is okay. police have searched one of the two cars involved and they found 200 rounds of ammunition and a rifle and they think they will find more when they look in the second car. i spoke with the man who was kidnapped. he is fine. he is calm. he is okay. he wanted topend our conversation praising the officers and talking about what a great job they did. >> thank you. breaking news now, a preschool teacher will not face criminal charges after being accused of taping the hands of a two-year old in her care. the district attorney told abc7 news this morning that it is declining to prosecute the woman who no longer works at the christian preschool in pleasanton. witnesses say she tried to restrain the child who refused to take a nap.

the child care licensing officials cited and fineed the company. >> drivers are facing delays after a deadly rollover in daly city during the morning commute. sky 7 shows us the crash scene on northbound interstate 280 near the highway one interchange. it happened at 8:15 and claimed the life of a man. our media partner reports he may have lost control of the honda s.u.v. after making a suddentur. >> calaveras county saying the killing of an 8-year-old girl was intentional. leila fowler was stabbed in her own home over the weekend. abc7 news reporter kira klapper is in the newsroom. >> friends and neighbors on her? >> the close knit community of valley springs gathers to remember her tonight as we learn more information about her death of the the sheriff now says tha herde s d it wasn't a botched robbery.

her parents, barney and krystal walters may speak today. they were behind the authorities where they were too distraught to talk. the 8-year-old died from shock and blood loss from being stabbed so many times. yesterday, the community was on lockdown during a manhunt for the killer. investigators interviewed and searched sex offenders and paroleees in the area. the state department of justice says they will not rest until this case is clod. >> i can say this: it is a sad time in calaveras county. i wanted to share with the citizens of the county and the valley springs area we are doing everything possible to apprehend the person responsible for the murder of this 8-year-old girl. >> yesterday, jenny lind elementary students made cards and hung purple and pink ribbons

forecast. >> important stuff to talk about when the fire threat develops so early in the season as it is this time. good morning, everyone, 11:20 right now as we look from mount tamalpais to the south you can see the haze hanging around and the high clouds and it is not a "spare the air" day. san francisco is 63 and headed out to oakland it is 68 and san jose is 69 and walnut creek is 78, and palo alto is 6 and speaking of walnut creek, headed to san ramon valley at 680, north of downtown, walnut creek, santa rosa is 74 and napa is 71 and 78 in fairfield and mid-70's for concord and los gatos and gilroy. here is what i want you to focus on this part of the forecast, how much warmer it will be compared to average and today is one of the cooler days in our forecast. ten degrees warmer in san francisco with a high of 74 to 16 degrees warmern livermore with a high of 88.

in santa clara valley bego to 88 in los gatos and gilroy. 82 in palo alto, and 75 at mill gray and the coast has free air conditioning, mid-to-upper 60's and low-to-mid 70's downtown and south san francisco and sausalito and mid-80's through the north bay valley and at the beaches, 15 to 20 degrees cooler with a lot of upper 70's to low 80's along the east bay shore and the high inkland, recordy 80 and a cool record high so we will be close do that. today, it is the coolest day in the forecast until the weekend. the east bay valleys will be mid-to-upper 80's. a's and angels, a few extra innings but take a break. 67 is the first pitch dropping down to 61 so another delightful night. now, temperatures, with the winds, most of us are in the mid-to-upper 50's and the higher elevation temperatures are above

1,000' are stuck in the 60's and 70's because of the wind behind the dry cold front rolling through and kicking up the dry gusty winds and bringing u the fire danger so if you were not with us at the top of the show, northeast wind, north bay mountains and diabolo range and 20 to 23 miles per hour sustained and up to 50 to 60 miles per hour, heightening the fire danger in the north bay mountains. 6:00 tonight through 6:00 tomorrow night with elevation at 1,000'. try to get out and build a buffer around the house. temperatures jump a couple of degrees tomorrow and thursday, friday, and saturday the best chance for record high is thursday and friday around 90 at the bay and mid-90's inland and then a dramatic drop sunday into monday, 10 to 20 degrees cooler than saturday. >> you were talking about the a's. >> they were almost too tir with the a's played the longest
