>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> happening right now, a 50-year-old woman is in a santa clara county jail accused of trying to poison customers at a starbucks coffee shop. >> a customer made all the difference. employees at the starbucks and the fire department. ramineh behbehanian was caught and arrested yesterday. katie marzullo joins us with the story.

katie? >> the woman has been booked on attempted murder. police say the bottles of orange juice she left at the starbucks contained rubbing alcohol, enough to kill someone. >> customers at starbucks do not hesitate to get a cup coffee the morning after a woman placed poison orange juice in the case. >> maybe years ago, it would norprise me. today. >> the suspect, 50-year-old ramineh behbehanian, brought the tainted juice to the store in a star bucks bag. a customer saw what she did and alerted empls and the suspect overher the conversation and took off. employees called 9-1-1 but they could not have known how serious the situation was. >> according to the fire captain the quantity of rubbing alcohol inside the bottles was a lethal quantity. >> for that the woman has been booked on poining and attempted murder charges. police tracked her down quickly because an employee got her

license place number. is there a continuing danger? >> that is a good news in the case that leaves many uneasy. >> scary. lace every day and trust it that what you get is what you ordered. it is scary. >> to finish the thought, they do not believe there is a continuing net to the community right new. as for the motive? police do not have a motive and notpe rt date is set for thursday. i talked with corporate starbucks and they say after the incident they pulled all the juice from the shelf at the location and out of abundance of caution asked all starbucks in the bayea to check their juice supply but no tampering was found. >> a woman who was terrorized in a crime spree is speaking out this morning. police say an armed oregan man tried to carjack her after

kidnapping a man reportedly on the way to the russian consulate in san francisco. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield spoke with the victim and joins us. >> police were very impressed with how this victim handled herself with a gunpointed at her she refuseed to go with the man and kept him calm. she touched his forehead, his arrest, showed him pictures of her kids, anything to keep him from shooting her. >> he pulled the gun and stuck it in my face and said get in the pseer's side and i said, no, an or,nd i said no, i am not going anywhere with you. i started to push him out and i said, what is wrong? what is wrong? what do you need? >> she tried her best to stay calm when she was held up at the shoppingnter last night at 6:30. >> tried to keep him talking and keep him calm and i kept my

voice low. my focus was keeping my hand from shaking so he would not think i was nervous or scared. >> the 30-year-old we man, just before he tried to kidnap her he kidnapped a man pointing a gun at the man and demanding he drive him to a church so he could talk to a priest. the church was closed so they returned to the parking lot and the man was able to get away. at the same time the police got an alert from san francisco police about boyce. >> his mother contacted the san francisco police and said he was on his way to the russians consulate to seek asylum and she was worried because he suffers from ment illness and he was armed. >> she caught the eye of someone in the parking lot who was able to call 9-1-1 and she says she feels like she handled the situation well. >> i felt actually good about it because i thought, well, a lot of people said my god, it is scary at that time and i

thought, actually, for once i was in the right place at the right time. >> obviously she is okay. police have searched one of the two cars involved and they found 200 rounds of ammunition and a rifle and they think they will find more when they look in the second car. i spoke with the man who was kidnapped. he is fine. he is calm. he is okay. he wanted topend our conversation praising the officers and talking about what a great job they did. >> thank you. breaking news now, a preschool teacher will not face criminal charges after being accused of taping the hands of a two-year old in her care. the district attorney told abc7 news this morning that it is declining to prosecute the woman who no longer works at the christian preschool in pleasanton. witnesses say she tried to restrain the child who refused to take a nap.
