fires including one started last night that is expected to be contained this morning at the site of an 1880's resort, with 20 acres burning and unoccupied trailer was destroy. a fire is burning in lake county with one structure destroyed and others threatened by the fire. no injuries reported. >> in southern california, firefighters battle a 3,000 acre wildfire in riverside county that broke out yesterday afternoon on the northern outskirts of the city. you can see the flames in the distance. it is 35 percent contained. there were evacuations. firefighters have limited the property damage to a single house and curb the threat to hundreds more. >> investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire in san jose that dislaced three people. it started before 11:30 near willow street with flames devouring a home, garage,

detached shed and two motor homes. flames spread to the house next door with no reports of injuries. >> in new york city, firefighters are battling a smoky four-alarm fire in the bronx after a garage burst into flames. the large column of smoke is surpriseibl from 20 miles away. heavy flames shot from the garage and firefighters battled to keep the fire from spreading to a commercial building. it appears contained to the garage with two cars engulfed and trains are passing the 225 the street station and it is possible train service will be halted soon. >> no big breakthrough but investigators making progress in the search if the killer of appear 8-year-old girl in calaveras county stabbed to death by someone in her home on saturday. investigators returned to the home in valley springs yesterday and will not say what they were searching for. they have collected d.n.a.

evidence, fingerprints and several knives from the crime seen. they are reaching out to other agencies to see if there have been similar crimes involving children recently. the sheriff has canceled all vacations and days off for deputies until there is no rest in the case. >> the woman accused of trying to poison starbucks customers will be arraigns in court. officers arrested ramineh behbehanian on monday after getting tips from a barista and a customer who saw her place two bottles on the shelf at starbucks. the suspect is a corporate chemist and pharmacist who worked at pfizer and other high-profile corporations. she faces attempted murder charges for spiking juice bottles with rubbing alcohol. >> former contra costa county preschool and sunday schoolteacher accused of sex crimes against children will appear in court. the 23-year-old is charged with four counts child molestation.

the prosecution says no victim was his student but police are looking at potential victims in addition to those included in the charges. he is held in county jail on more than $5.5 million bail. >> an east bay high school coach is facing charges after being accused in a sex scandal. the 27-year-old is facing nine felonies for sex crimes against a teen girl. he is an assistant girls water polo coach at north gate high school in walnut creek and according to the paper, he was a teen swim coach before that. no word who the alleged victim is. he is on bail for now and will be arraigned may 20. >> developing husband in the boston marathon bombings. we have new information on the roles of the three friends of the surviving suspect who police arrested yesterday and another development concerning the wife of the suspect who was killed. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has more. >> the investigation turned to the inner circle.

cnn reports that the widow of the older brother, tamerlan tsarnaev, spoke to her husband after his picture appeared on the news as a bombing suspect. we do not know what the two said to each other. as for the friends of the younger brother, authorities have chargeed two two for attempting to impede the bombing investigation by throwing away a backpack that had explosive powder removed and they, too, saw the pictures on the news of the suspects and texted their friend, you look like the bombing suspect. he texted back, lol and he temperatured that they could have what they wanted from his room and they found the backpack they are accused of throwing away in a landfill. >> he has cooperated fully with the authorities and looks

carjacking spree appears in court as authorities try to figure if he murdered a bay area woman in oregon. a couple found 57-year-old christian england dead on highway 101 on sunday and her body was found in a rest stop in coos county and will not reveal how she was killed. her brother told abc7 news she served on the board of directors of the castro valley arts foundation and investigators believe jeffery boyce may have killed her. he was arrested on monday in greenbrae driving from oregon to california on monday, carjacked and kidnap add man and tried to kidnap a woman before he was arrested. his mother said he was on the way to the russian consulate to seek asylum. >> there are more problems for the new eastern span of the bay bridge with cracks discovered in up to two dozen welds that connect steel plates at the base of tower. they are needed to withstand a

major earthquake. the new problem comes as caltran tries to figure out a "fix" for dozens of snapped rods. >> a woman who was rescued from a tree by firefighters is doing fine this morning. at 9:00 firefighters had to rescue the woman from 30' tall treat at broadway streets. it was near a high voltage power line and pg&e had to shut off the power. she wanted to spend the night in a tree and two friends used a wench to get her up there. she was not hurt. police have been hand over to police for investigation. transportation officials are considering expanding parking meters into residential areas to be installed around the northeast part of the miss, mission bay, dog patch, and south of market.
