3 pl in east palo alto. six people injured five people were injured by gunshots. one, a six-year-old child, was injured by flying glass. police are trying to determine how this all started. >> what i will say is i don't believe it's just a random thing. several of the victims appear to be gang members. won't say which gang but several are gang members. >> officers do not have a solid suspect vehicle description. witnesses tell us there was a vehicle that took off from the scene and there were more than one males inside of that getaway car. now, all of the victims were taken to area hospitals. they are expected to survive their woundsment one of the victims, a grandmother, is not yet clear if those victims knew the shooters. reporting live in east palo

alto, sergio quintana, abc7 news. >> ama: now to the latest developments in the story we broth you last night at 11:00. a deadly limousine fire on the san mateo bridge that killed five women. we have live team coverage from the hospital where some victims are recovering. but we begin in oakland where to the mass roman spoke with the mother of one of the survivors. reporter: 31-year-old woman was a new bind and also used to work here at the fruit vail halve center. she was soon to good to the philippines. she was with eight of her friends last night when for some unknown reason their limousine burst into flames. nine women were in the burning limousine. this cell phone photo shows the rear of the car in flames. the driver of the limo noticed smoke at 10:00 p.m. he pulled over and got out. the car then caught fire. four women managed to escape the flames.

five others, including the woman who bass about to celebrate a bridal shower with her friend, were trapped in the car and died at the scene. the friends were headed here to the crown plaza hotel for the shower, according to the mother of 42-year-old mary grace guardiana. mary grace got out of the car. >> bridal shower. >> to bridal shower. >> uh-huh. of her friend. she will get married june. >> a neighbor of another survivor said at one point many, if not all, work as nurses here at this medical center. saturday night's fatal car fire jammed the westbound lanes of the san mateo bridge. now, why that limousine caught fire is still unknown. the chp is investigating. we're live in oakland. abc7 news.

>> ama: the limousine company owner released a statement to abc7 news that reads in part: limo to will do everything possible to investigate and assist authorities in determining the cause of the fire in order to bring answers and provide closure to the victims and their families, and also says the company is deeply saddened by the tragedy. here's the name of the four women who survived. mary grace guardiano. jasmine desquestion ya. nelia arellano, and amalia loyola of san leandro. abc7 news reporter nick smith has more on the victims. he spoke with a friend visiting one of the women in the hospital at stanford today. nick. reporter: you know, at least two of the women who survived the fiery accident are in stanford medical center behind me. we have new to the abc newsroom video that shows how alarming

this smoky, fiery car really was. look at this video. this is new to abc7 news, given to us by a viewer who happened to be passing by the burning limousine stopped on the bridge. now, traffic had already started to slow, so the driver pulled out the camera to capture the action. you can see the thick dark smoke covering the back of the stretch hem seen, even more disturbing are the flames in the back. you can see two cars pulled off the road. possibly attempting to help those trapped inside. today, family members and friends are shocked by what happened. ivy and roy knew one of the four women who escaped from the burning car. nelia arellano, and she is being treated for minor injuries, and they also knew the bride who did not escape the smoke and flames. hour from santa clara county. sheriff divers found a man who had been missing in a reservoir. here's where the cab knew cap sized and tossed four people in the water. rescuers found one man who had died. two other boaters made it safely to shore. the sheriff tells us the victims were not wearing life jackets and all four people in the canoe were from the same family. for the fourth time in eight days, driver has died while fishing for an lone knee. a man died yesterday morning after collapses at salt point state park north of accept rose sample last weekend three dwhiefers are also fishing for abalone died. two of the victims were from the peninsula, one was from san francisco. yesterday's victim is described as a middle-aged man from the east bay. san mateo county firefighters tackled a fire that burned several acres in a heavily wooded area.

sky 7hd was over the blaze this afternoon. it broke out just before 4:00 near skyline boulevard. a calfire helicopter made water drops over the blaze. it created smoky conditions but is expected to be put out by sunset. in developing news. fire officials in southern california are confident the massive springs fire in ventura county will be fully contained by tomorrow. the 28,000 square acre fire is now 60% contained. cooler temperatures temperaturet air on saturday allowed firefighters to get handle on the flame and residents to come home. >> allowed us to get our resources in position. >> we shipped out and came back last night. just don't want to take any chances. when the wind blows. >> in riverside county, a 650-acre vegetation fire is now 75% contained. temperatures in southern california have dropped

near the san francisco bay area, right in the heart, but to the north we are picking up a few light showers. this is north of willis. it's been in the sierra where the thunderstorms have been firing up all afternoon. we'll do it one more time and you can see these lightning strikes. there you go. the blue canyon up towards quincy and chester. so, the wave or band of moisture will continue to move across the bay area overnight tonight, and i want to show you the radar/satellite composite because the low is right here and you can see the sunday clockwise flow of the -- and as this thing moves inland, that will bring the bay area better chance of maybe seeing a few isolated showers, maybe a little thunder in our forecast for tomorrow. wind advisory up until 9:00. those south winds were warm this morning, santa cruz, higher

elevates, gusts close to 50 miles-per-hour. those winds have started to die down since then. but this will expire at 9:00 this evening. don't be surprised if a few gusts as high as 35 miles-per-hour in some spots. check out half moon bay. gusts at 30. we have a 23-mile-per-hour wind gust in mountain view, and in the north bay, winds dying down. napa, southwest at 10-mile-per-hour. beautiful shot, high definition camera, embarcadero. highs today down as much as 20 degrees in some spots. santa rosa, the high was 64. 71 in redwood city, and livermore, 71. right now the temperature change, 24 hours ago, down 13, down 15, livermore, and another beautiful shot from the sutro cam looking down on the city. we have mainly 60s across much of the bay area. 59 in half moon bay.

high definition east bay cam showing clouds filtering in. here is a look at our forecast highlights. we grol with showers tonight. slight chance. better chance tomorrow, and then it looks like temperatures will begin to warm as we head through the latter part of the work week. here's the low sitting just off the coast. the wrap-around moisture. as we look at our forecast animation, 11:00, it will start to pull back off the cost, and by 5:00 tomorrow morning, maybe few lingering showers. south of san jose. and then check out 9:00 a.m. tomorrow. just a batch of moisture feeding back towards the coast, and that could bring us a few isolated thunderstorms. here's a lack at the lows tonight. generally in the mid-to-low 50s, with a chance of a few sprinkles, a light somehower in the higher elevations, and here's a look at the highs tomorrow. much like today, 72 for san jose, 62 for half moon bay. san francisco tomorrow, chance of a shower.
